They may shoot good out of your gun mine just didn't like em. Just have to find what your gun likes the best.

If it does like them it will be the first gun I own that does. Lol
If not I’ll use the Dual Bond Winchester.

Looks like this deer season is a bust for me. Went out with the muzzleloader today in a place where we saw plenty of small deer in rifle season. Didn't see a darn thing, even the squirrrels have moved on it seems. We moved to a new place with alot more land, however I'm going to have to put in some work in the spring and summer to get the deer coming in here regularly. A couple of food plots fenced in to keep the cows out should help with that. Need to move my feeders into the woods too.

You won't be disappointed! When I had mine 200 yards wasn't an issue.

I am curious what something like that is actually good for.

In lower Michigan they just "allowed" us to hunt with straight walled rifle cases. 44mag and 450 Bushmaster are really big around here.

2 weeks ago I had a buddy come up from Texas to hunt by me, he had a 44mag, and I had my 450 Bushmaster. Needless to say he is ditching the 44mag next year and is looking for something with more ass behind it and more range.

I am curious if one of those designated slug guns are good for 300 yards. Because I know my Mossberg 500 with a slug barrel isn't.

I personally wouldn't take a 300 yard shot with one but I'd be comfortable with 200 all day.

I think it's more about how far YOU can shoot, not the gun. My heavy barrel .257 could probably go out to 500 yards with the right ammo. With me pulling the trigger, 200 is the absolute max and the conditions have to be right. Fortunately, 200 yards is about the upper limit where you can actually see something in the wooded hills around here.

Do they have a cartridge length limit? If not, I would think the .444 and .45-70 with today's bullets would be the way to go. Or, a .375 WCF if you can find one.

Yea, we have a cartridge length limit. Minimum case length of 1.16 and maximum of 1.8. It's got to be straight walled cases.

The 45-70 is to long.

I shoot FEDERAL THROPHY COPPER 3" out of mine. Its didn't like the HORNDAY SS slugs. Might save you a little time and money on slugs
I had a consistency issue with the Hornady. In the same gun and my H&R slug gun as well. Federal and Winchester do well for me

I might be the only one who don't hunt but shoot my slug guns for fun. We have a 24" steel plate at 250yds and I have absolutely no issues popping it every time. I'm sure 300 is possible if the shooter is able, but I think it's too far for a guaranteed good clean kill shot personally. I am arching that slug pretty good @ 250

Was doing some emergency work on a chainsaw today for a friend. So he could finish cutting before dark. Broken clutch spring.
He just happen to bring something I havent shot before. 500 S&W. So that is now my biggest handgun over my 454 casull I owned.

Got myself a lower setup for AR, looking for suggestions on reasonable priced upper. Don't know much about it but a little research shows the 223 wylde chamber will be the best option?

Check out or call Palmetto State Armory (PSA) in SC...see what they've got.
