Dustin. ..you are welcome to check my youtube vids on porting. ...especially so you can see how a real amateur does it lol.

I get the sentiment that Randy has. I DO consider him an authority on porting....yet 1800 or so jobs later he is still learning. For him to post a formula of how to port a saw today might not be THE way to do it...and he risks people upset with him after they've destroyed a good jug chasing after what he posted. So....correct me if I'm wrong..but the benefit of sharing formulas doesn't outweigh the risk / possibility of leading someone down the path towards deoptimization.

I got really frustrated after the gtg where I video ed my 5x husky 350s. I wasn't sure there was much benefit to port work until I saw the dyno results. I would encourage you...randy...and say that for me the benefits of sharing don't out weigh the risks... and your work indeed is inspiring and ...like other members too...keeps the rest of us striving for better.

Now...as far as bridge ports go....I'm not that brave personally hehe

I'm just too busy to spend much time on the forum......and sure don't have time for doing threads.

When something interesting lands on the bench you guys will be the first to know about it.

Today......I have two 242XPs two MS261Cs, an MS460, two CS620Ps, and a CS600P on the bench. I need to get these done and move on some Solos, and MS441s.......

That's cool Dallas, I didn't know you liked chainsaws. Welcome to a great group of people that share your interest. Sometimes people get hung up on the popularity of Stihl and miss out on the superior other brands like Husqvarna. They are lesser known and rely on their proven quality and performance for sales, instead of mass marketing and sponsorship of logging events like Stihl does. You should check them out, I bet you'd be surprised.
Stihl Über Alles!

Some people can't file the chain good enough to take advantage of the extra power it seems. Learning to file a stock saw good before getting into the hobby of ported saws would be a start. I'm still learning.
