When it got too bad in the back of our station wagon, my dad would pull over, stop the car, come around, grab me and my sister by the scalp, bang our phukyn heads together (once) get back in, and drive onward. Nice & quiet. #quitcherbitchin ffs

Yep, all the local Stihlerships I've been to suck. When I need something I order it from @fordf150. Have a great relationship with a local tree service that doesn't like to sharpen chains and get them free though. If I ever break down and buy a grinder, I'll be in business. They are on the rough side when they let them go.

To get back on track here, can anyone find out what dealer cost is on Stihl boxed chain loops?

dealer cost on chain varies. theres a few different price brackets on bars and chains depending on your dealer status and crap like that.

we generally sell loops at five bucks over the size of the chain. so a 20" chain is 25. but we also sell the second one at half price if you buy two at the same time. we also don't change price depending on cutter type, skip chain or any thing like that. if I have to cut a loop off bulk its usually .30-.35 cents a link. that's probably high. I'm probably a douche stihler. I probably don't care. :D

Do you sell factory boxed chain or buy bulk and spin your own to the sizes customer needs?
I stock factory loops to fit stihls...during the busy time I don't have time to go back and spin up loops for everyone that needs a chain. I do stock bulk chain to spin for guys that want oddball chains to fit off brand saws we don't deal with.

I ported a 346 for a buddy of mine. I went to town with him to pick up a new proper chain. Whatever Stihl's version of .325 chisel with no bumpers is. They went in back and spun him a 16" chain (66 or 67 dl) and charged him $30

May as well grab something to break off in a guys backside as well.

But I get it. Takes 15 minutes to go in back and break/spin a loop. Labor isn't cheap nowadays

The dealer where I get my chain stocks chain for Husqvarna, echo (They are an echo dealer), and other brands. I got an 18" chain for my 350 Husqvarna there.

oh yea...ill break one off is a guys ass, no problem. you read the part where I said yes I'm a douche and I don't care right? :p
if I have to make a chain, its for someone that didn't buy a saw from us. some off brand. my favorites are guys that bring in full skip 16" 3/8narrow low profile chain and want a chain made. I always wonder how well that poulan woodshark pulls the ps chain I sell em.... they are also more than welcome to go to the local box store and buy a loop of Oregon. the free market is alive and well in the chain saw chain bidness. we sell a ton of chain. its no sweat off my sack to not have to stop what I'm doing to go spin one up. now if youll excuse me...I have to go spin up a 70 link chain for a guy with some poulan pro. I *s-word you not. hes standing right in front of me while I make him wait to finish my chainsaw forum post.

That would be nice. I have a husky dealer 15 miles away, but I mostly deal with the true value in my town

What I'd give to be a fly on the door on his way out. That dude's gonna be *b-wording about his chain costing more than his saw :risas3:
