"If the email you registered on OPEforum is a Gmail, Yahoo, MSN, Shaw, Comcast, AOL, Hotmail, you will have to WHITELIST the notices@opeforum.com email address (or save as a favorite - whatever your email app requires). Otherwise you will no longer receive notices about threads in which you're participating.

This is just a notice, not a 'forum conversation' - you cannot respond."

Any info on how to do this - I don't see any directions on my Yahoo! account.

If I don't, will they just go to my SPAM folder (I can rescue them from there)?

Thanks.

Philbert,
I went to my email, and just added the above to my "contacts"…….not sure if that will do the trick, but I lack computer savviness.

As of October 1 I am no longer receiving notifications of activity in subscribed threads. Nothing changed on my end except the date.
I deleted all the OPE cookies, logged out, logged back in to reset that cookie, still no notifications. I toggled my notification prefs, etc. Still no joy.

Nothing in my spam folder. No problems with AS or a couple of other forums I use. No indication that my mail or browser settings have any bearing on the matter.

FWIW, I also haven't been receiving my usual promos from HLS. Probably not a coincidence.

I used the 'contact' email address to bring the matter up a couple days ago but haven't heard anything. Figured this was the next best possibility since I couldn't find an 'admin' address anywhere.

Would appreciate anyone who could look into this for me.

Tia.

Thank you, Randy.

Is there a better contact point for such things than the "Suggestion Box"?

Any progress on this? Is HLS operating by phone only? Still haven't gotten any of my usual ads and updates from them. Not seeing any threads about this, either.
Seems like a pretty serious issue..., or I just got lost in the shuffle.

Still broke.

Steve is working on it. Moving stuff off the server to find the corrupt file.

It may sound like I understand what I just typed, but I assure you I do not.

I was also the tech ops manager of a broadband ISP in a former life, though had a senior level admin to hang my hat on when things like this happened. That said, seems like the logs should tell the tale or at least provide a road map to a logical system recovery or rollback. Also seems like it would be easier and faster to just move all users to a new mail server(s) and be done with it rather than looking for a needle in a haystack file for nearly a month that may or may not be the underlying problem anyway. One thing I do know about system administrators..., they can be very stubborn and occasionally not see the forest for the trees without additional viewpoints and help beyond their own skillset. Many are in over their heads and it doesn't show until a major crisis occurs. At this stage, Steve would seem to need all the help he can get. And if this were AS, folks would be calling for heads to roll. Not that I am. Just sayin'.

One has to remember that this is a Pay-for server and the email server might be a separate server.
At the same time, this is a volunteer based site. Like everything else, life does get in the way....

The bottom of the page indicates HL Supply LLC is running the show and is simply using the XenForo software platform for its OPE Forum frontend operations. It's also my understanding based on MM's comments above that all HLS related sites are affected. And I would certainly suggest that if HLS LLC is using volunteer based systems administrators (which I highly doubt) it may be time to pay for some qualified professional backup to take the helm under such circumstances.

My last correspondence from any HLS server was Oct. 5th -- the day before their big move from Ormond Beach to Daytona. I doubt that's just a coincidence. That's also three weeks of life getting in the way of what many may consider significant disruption of important daily activity not being effectively addressed..., including HL Supply operations to one extent or another.

Am I *b-wordin'? No.

Again..., just sayin'.
