I HAD to see the first episode. I had no clue how "it" started; I knew the French were there first, but had no idea why. It wasn't "history" nor was it "current events" when I was in school. I heard a ton of the phrases and slogans, mantras etc., but I had only limited knowledge of what was going on. Much like today, the news didn't always have the facts, just the story...I do remember that fully half of the day's news was about the war or the protests. In those days that was 15 minutes of a 30 minute national news broadcast. How things have changed since then...
