There isn't that I know of.
On a side note... I hate censorship. We are a chainsaw forum. I get where you're coming from, but each has their own individual obligation to shield young eyes. You can't escape these types of things across a broad spectrum of forums. I've been there when my kids were small and you just have to do whatever it takes.
I moderate a specific model motorcycle forum, and years ago I bished about a specific users animated avatar and the popular vote was against me to let it stay.

I'm not trying to censor or get rid of people's avatars, I'm just trying to find out if there is a way to not have them show up on MY computer. I've been on other forums where all the avatars can be hidden. (uses less bandwidth too if that's an issue)
I can hide content of everyone that has an avatar that I don't want to appear but that would eliminate a lot of content I may want to read. If it can't be done, I'll explore other solutions, just wondering if there is that option?

You can do it on some forums. I know it's a vbulletin feature. Usually through your user control panel. It does cut down on data use. The checklist should ask, show signatures, show avatars, allow pics and so on.

Wondering if there is a way to hide avatar pics without affecting other functionality? I'd like to be able to use the site without being embarrassed by someone looking over my shoulder and seeing the thong avatars and other risque pics.
If you're using Firefox yes can by using Adblock Plus set up a custom filter. I am currently using such that block http://opeforum.com/data/avatars/
Note this blocks all the avatars on the fore mention forum expect for the default ones which you also add a filter for that too.

Yes I understand I am miss some good avatars but when you got youngster constantly running in/out and looking over your shoulder they don't need to be see some them plus doesn't goes to well with my viewing habits either.

I also run No script to avoid those tracking and advertising programs. I don't need Twitter, Facebook or Google knowing what I am working on.
