after getting back into the landscaping / lawn care business, i found that a lot had changed in the way others charge for jobs.
i always based my rates on the job itself, not how long it took to do it. i've found that a lot of older clients prefer to pay a set fee for a certain job (even though i also give a huge discount to veterans, fixed income clients, and clients that have a immediate family member in the household on active military duty).
currently my operation pays for itself, as i also have a regular job and 2 online sales sites. but with a chance to expand my operation, i wonder if i'm hurting myself by the fixed rate scale.
what do y'all think? any suggestions?
