i tried that,but no luck. i'm huntin' for top covers for some 266's i'm going to rebuild (maybe if i find'em)

check hl supply they are on ebay lots of 268 not sure the bolt pattern is the same on all 266 and all 268

nope the bolt pattern is not the same.
i found ones listed in uk.
and 1 used one in vt. for $75.00

266 is two piece ignition, which takes a different cover than a one piece like a 272.
