JJ may have been the one I mentioned in your other thread. @jacob j, was it you that mentioned fitting a 12mm crank in a 10mm case? On some, the counterweights bottom out. On others like mine, the lower part of the rod bottoms out on the case

Yeah it takes a lot of work in some cases to make the 12mm crank fit in a 10mm case. The early 10mm cases are really tight and with those, it's better just to find another 10mm crank.
125454553 to 129583701 were 12mm cases with 10 mm cranks and the 12 crank will fit prior to 125454553 were the early 10 mm cases with 4 mm screws and 12 mm crank will not fit. after 129583701 were 12 mm cases with 12 mm cranks. I have had disagreements with this but i know this for a fact an old stihl tech 40 years exp told me this and i can speak from expeiriance cuz my 12 mm saw serial number has an earlieir serial number then my 10 mm saw . It threw me for a loop cuz when i got my 12 mm saw and tore it down it had an aftermarket crank that was 12 mm but serial number was saying it was a 10 mm saw and i built it back with oem 12 mm crank and ks cylinder i had being i allready had a 10 mm ks saw i wanted to build a 12 mm with 10 mm cylinder just sayin
