These saws have west coast covers and big dogs and the 064 has a heavy oem dp cover.
There dry of fluids but not clean.
The last 440 i weighed wasn't much lighter than a 460 if I remember right

What is the advantage or disadvantage of the larger, longer west coast clutch cover?

What does the larger cover do? Force the chips out lower? Never really noticed an issue with the regular clutch cover.

Chip control.

And finger safety. If you've got a wrap bar, having the bigger clutch cover makes it harder to get you fingers or gloves under the cover and into the chain.

Looks kinda cool, too...

I could be wrong, but... The new east coast covers sweep up toward the rear causing more of a spray pattern. The longer/ bigger cover controls them to more of a stream. This would be beneficial when falling so the chips would be directed away from you. Especially when going to the other side of a humbolt with the clutch side up. IMHO

I modified a big flap to fit on some smaller covers a while back. Better chip deflection and they don't clog as easy with noddles. My 044 and 562 are about 20% slower than my 660. I've not directly compared those 2. Solo is in between but closer to the 660. The big saws set all the time and the 562 gets used unless I need the 34" bar.

Same here, its the 562 that gets picked up for everything unless it's big bar territory. Next up is the 288 that always has a 32" on it. It's too hard to store a saw with any bigger bar on it so the 395 and 2100 sit without bars. There better be a good reason to drag those out and put a bar and chain on them.

I'm just use to a big saw and it's hard to use a smaller one when you are use to 92cc

Also the only time I actually use a saw is cutting timber and what you cut it down with is what you limb with.

99% of my saw running is testing anymore.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^This is why the wrap saws have the larger cover finger safety ,plus when cutting overhead it shoots the chips more away from you instead of showering you with them .
