Just wanted to put a heads up on here... Gearwrench is running some very good buy one get one deals. One happens to be a new product... At least to me.. Mid length sockets in 3/8 and 1/4 are only $47 shipped from ntxtools. I have been looking for a nice set of mid length sockets for a long time but wasn't willing to pony up the 200ish bucks for snapon or even the $98 for protos. They are the only two companies that offered them a few months ago and those prices were just for the 3/8.

Gear wrench has some good stuff out. They have socket inserts that fit the box end part of the wrench and a worth having. Makes a super slim set up that if needed, is awesome! Just don't depend on breaking hard stud loose with the ratcheting end.

I too am interested in reports from those who have used gearwrench sockets & wrenches.... they seem to be on sale quite often at reasonable prices. I have Kincrome sockets and ratchet spanners and have been pretty happy with them. But I'd also like a nice 1/2" Stahlwille set too, but their pricey.

I've been very impressed with the sockets. I have lots of gearwrench wrenches too. They aren't bad, but not as nice as my Blackhawks or some other more expensive brands I have or have used.

They're very good for the price. I've got quite a bit of gearwrench stuff and have never broken anything yet. They also have six point wrenches which are hard to find without spending big coin

I don't care for their ratcheting wrenches much but I'm also comparing them to my Matco ones. I recently bought a few sets of the pass thru socket sets and have really liked them so far. Only complaint so far also is the snap ring on the ratchet head is a bit weak for what I use it for so the socket stays on the nut when I pull the ratchet off. The brand in general seems to be great quality for the price and good warranty also they seem to be sold many different places.

Unfortunately my tool budget is pretty tapped out right now. I'd love to have some mid-length sockets, though. Seems like about they'd work about 75% of the time you need a deep socket and 75% of the time you need a shallow.

If I was a mechanic starting from scratch, I might buy mid length snap ons and cheapo shallow and deep sockets like HF.

Purchased the Gearwrench 32-pc combination ratcheting wrenches last year as kind of a Christmas gift to myself...32-pc is the same as the 20-pc set but with 6 additional stubbys in both SAE and metric. Used them many times and seem to be quality built. If I remember correctly, I caught the set on sale for $69 and also used a 10% off coupon and free shipping to the house as well.

There are 4 guys in the shop with the long Marco ratchet wrenches. 2 have had a lot of trouble with them. The other two do very little work and have had no real trouble. .

I agree though. The gear wrench flex heads aren't as nice as my Blackhawks. I love those.

I like the Gearwrench ratcheting combination wrenches.
They're a good bang for the buck.
