Thinking about buying a dingo and putting a stump grinder on it. So when i am done grinding the stump I can use it for clean up also. Has anyone used a stump grinder on a toro dingo?

I think you will be a bit disappointed. Takes a lot of HP to grind stumps quickly and moving piles of wood chips takes some power too. Just dont think a Dingo has the HP or weight.

Maybe try something along the lines of the SK650 by Ditch Witch unless Toro has upped their power to match a machine of that size. Last Dingo I was around was underpowered and too light.

There are at least two dingo models strong enough for this and even a purpose built Dingo stump grinder.
I would not recommend a ditch witch or bobcat mini skid as they use proprietary attachments instead of the industry standard.
Check out the boxer mini skids as well.
Great for a tree service with a grapple attachment.
It can carry 850 pounds to the truck at the same speed as a man can carry 150 :) never gets tired or calls in sick and improves the morale of the crew.
Great investment for a tree company

I thought the DW used the regular mini attachments?

From what I remember all of the bobcat and 1 or two of the models from both Vermeer and ditch witch use the oddball system.
Could be totally wrong, but it made a big difference to me when I was buying.

Bobcat is the oddball, for sure.

I believe DW & Vermeer now use the standard mini attachment configuration.

I'm looking @ DW & Vermeer for a number of reasons.
1. Enough hydraulics to run attachments.
2. Local Support.
3. Long Service life.

What attachments do you run on your Boxer?

I have large mulch bucket, toothed bucket, leveller/grader, auger, trencher, 48" rototiller, forks, grapple, tree boom, reese hitch which was cheap and gets used constantly for mMoving trailers, also a battery powered 25 gallon spray tank that mounta to the leveller to give me a rough terrain spray rig for railroad easments, etc.

Yes bobcat it diffarant. I worked at a dealer that sold avants and you could not put attachments from them on to mt 55 that we took on trade. Vermeer would be nice that's what my local rental store uses and they have lots of areachments I could rent.

I have the new TX 1000 diesel, the best of all the mini skids in my opinion as I researched. Just sold the Dingo 525 tx narrow diesel when I bought the new gen Dingo I had for maybe 10 years. Had it about a year now and am very happy with it. Kept the same dingo grapple and added a huge bucket and have an auger and tree ball squeezer. The new reach capacity makes truck loading easier and even better into the dump trailer.

ps....the mini skid mounted stump grinders are not very good in my opinion. I have the Toro Dingo STX 38 dedicated stump grinder which is an amazing money maker.

Anyone I have talked to that had the hydro grinder attached to a dingo was very disappointed if your set on 1 then rent different types of grinders for it, use em and find what you like best. But I'd recommend a grinder that is specifically a stump grinder and not a attachment

I agree and I think if you must have a grinder on your mini then T and T sells a 38 hp (gas) attachment, used to be called the 38 Special, that is likely the best choice but you are gonna prob. pay $13k or plus for it.
