Does Anyone Know What Brand This Jug Is?

I torn down an MS460 for port work.......found a Chinese top end on it. I don't port aftermarket top ends......the quality just varies too wildly. Anyhow, this thing is the cheapest piece of crap I've seen yet.

After about an hour of run time......the plating is peeling off around the ports.

This saw was purchased by one of our military members. A man that put his life on the line in combat serving his country. Seeing this guy get ripped off by an ebay seller, well that pisses me off.

I've seen the dot-effect on a few aftermarket cylinders (in the squish band area) but am fairly clueless as to the symbol. Sorry

If it wasn't disclosed in the eBay add that the saw had an AF top end (well cylinder at least) it should be on its way back to the seller for a full refund IMO

Any details available on the purchase? Was it advertised as all OEM parts? Is the seller also a forum member?
The sellers eBay name needs to be exposed to prevent this from happening to others.

I don't have those details. I just contacted my customer and told him what I found. He said to do a complete rebuild......so it's getting a bath right now.

What an #$%@+!! to find this out after buying the saw & booking a place for port work at you favourite builder. I hope the owner ends up with a good saw. Its not Randy's job to warranty dudders on EBay but at least going forward the saw is in good hands. Let's find him a good jug & slug!

He wants to go with all new OEM parts. He's a man that wants a good saw that will live a long happy life. I appreciate the thoughts on parts locating.

Are you sure that is pealing and not just produced that way? I bought 3 Hiway Nikasil plated cylinders and they look significantly worse than that new in the box!! I sent one in for replacement the the new one was just as bad. Looks like bad hand ground work to clean up the port edges though I'm not sure why that would have been necessary.

You might be right sir. I've already pitched it in the trash though. My worst fear is having a piston explode ruining the case, crank, etc. I trust Meteor pistons, or OEM. I have no faith in any others.
