No it doesn’t look like that and it will be going back to where I bought it

Rightfully So: the ver. II is a much better saw.

If it doesn’t look like this or have that scalloped clutch cover like Shadco shared it’s not a ver. II.

TWINS!!! My Twins arrived today! OK, so they are not identical twins.

One has a little time on it, then was ported, the other was ported new.

One was shipped from within the State a while ago, but somehow took a detour to NC before arriving safely. The other was shipped from far away but arrived quickly and on time.

Ironically, they both arrived within a half hour of one another (from different carriers).

I was busy as heck and it was raining when they both arrived, but then I caught up with my workload and the weather cleared and was even real warm, so I found a few minutes to put B+Cs on them and fuel them up and make a few cuts with each. I liked them both so much I did not want to stop cutting, but time was short, I have another appt tonight, so a few cuts with each and I had to call it quits! But … I'm :)

Both have the original hole enlarged and a coarser screen inserted, and one also has my 2 - 1/4" holes, but I don't tell pros how to do the muffs on their saws … I just state what seems to work on mine.

I'll tell you that before you add B+C and fuel them, the powerheads are ridiculously light!!! :)

Husqvarna 262xp and Stihl ms361 compared best I could in some photos. 644721D9-B51B-4B91-93FC-933BFAB4A583.jpegF324EEBA-91AD-4520-8957-A489DE49A521.jpeg 280DE4D0-36C9-49C6-884C-FFEEB9250D44.jpeg Not much difference. They are pretty similar, other than the husky being slightly narrower and slightly taller. The weight and handling is similar as well, the husky feels slightly more neutral balanced. Again... this is subjective. Run what you like. Just thought it would be interesting to compare.

Husqvarna 562xp compared to the same Stihl ms361... E5AFCF52-DD4E-4175-BF6D-00420C56B8BE.jpegB2BB910B-AFD5-4839-85DA-B66B985C2978.jpeg A18E0D90-F9E4-4C05-814F-317B01952065.jpegAgain... not much different. The husky is slightly narrower, slightly longer and slightly taller. The weight and handling *feels* similar... but the 562xp does feel a little more neutrally balanced like the 262xp. They all certainly feel very different in the cut with different characters. The 262xp is a torquey saw, the 361 is a screamer and the 562 is kind of both. The 262 isn’t quite as smooth as the 562 or 361. But that is to be expected. It is older.

I have both saws & they each terrific in they’re own ways but if I had to pick one & give up one it would definitely be the 262 I’d keep. It’s hard to explain it just feels more comfortable to run for some reason balance, shape etc.Just my opinion of course, as I said both fine saws. I will say that the 262 is a lot harder to pull to start compression wise. I’m glad I don’t have to give up either one.:)
I often wonder how a 262 would feel, perform etc. up against a later model 562. Anyone have any input? Thanks.

I’m about to find out how they compare directly pretty soon. The 262 needs break in time first to be fair, going to run it in a little first. Of course... my findings could be different than what someone else has experienced.

I think if you put them on the scale you will find the 361 is lighter than the other 2.

Probably Mike. There isn’t a scale to be found out here though other than the one we use to calculate board footage in logs...2D788620-0F23-4D50-9D80-8B8D3EEA681F.jpeg So I just go by feel. Sometimes if a saw balances better than another one, it can feel lighter even if it is not. A highly subjective subject really... run em and keep the ones you like is what I tell people.
