BBR is (at least his YT persona) all about random acts of kindness. So I think you’re reasoning here is good.
Like him or not, he has pretty broad influence among a lot of folks who run saws.
More ideas:
1). Here’s another way to market this. He typically does an unboxing when a significant gift comes in. Include a note explaining what all was done to the saw. Mail it and ask if he will run it on his channel and then have it auctioned off at Buckinstock to support the charitable cause for which Buckinstock exists. That would add another leg of shipping but so what once we’re in this deep.
2). Skip BBR and apply the concept to another YTer. Build a saw for different saw community “influencer” (Hunicke, Human, Logger Wade, etc)....ask that they run it on their channel for a while to create some awareness, and then auction off to a charitable cause. Turner Logging doesn’t have a huge subscriber base, but they are one of my favorite channels.
Why bother with any of this? Just general good will, PR, and promotion of quality work. People are watching. Even if they aren’t commenting here or on YT.
I’m in for $20 if anything comes of this effort.
