The cutting goes fast Jeff, but moving the rounds and splitting them take a bit of time.

Splitting as much as I can by hand, as this is my "health spa"! Only left one knotty Oak (and all the Black Birch) for the hydro.

I recently spent a few weeks in a physical therapy unit.
They also have a "long term care" floor.
I went to visit the long term floor several times.
Just shoot the bull and chat with whoever was lucid.
There's a number of folks that have out lived most of their family or else the family is in bad health too.
Darn good staff working there and quite attentive, but nothing like having an extra visitor I figured.
.....and everyone seemed to react like it was good.

I found a couple of the spots with a not too shabby view of the sunrise and sunset.

Went to the local mower shop and picked up about a half a pickup load of chainsaws and parts, mostly old Homelites but one Poulan Super DA which has the fuel line hanging out, I assume the previous owner didn't know how to install it and gave up. I think I have three 330s, one 360, two small XLs and a Super 2 or so. Could have gotten more but that should keep me busy through next Summer...
I squirted a little fuel down the spark plug hole on a couple of them and they fired so maybe it won't be hard getting some of them running. Most definitely they all require a good cleaning...

Just got done watching the boxing on Showtime. Don't know how many of you saw it, but one of the judges in the first fight was my good friend Frankie Lombardi. We boxed together years ago under Steve Acunto. I won't tell you how many years ago, but we were both 135 lbs back then!

Frank currently lives in CT not far from here, and we are still in touch. In fact, he made some real nice stuff from my chainsawed wood boards. He is a great guy.

Steve passed away last year at the age of 101, and is in the Boxing Hall of Fame, the NY Boxing Hall of Fame, and the NJ Boxing Hall of Fame. He was also on the NYS Athletic Commission for over 60 years! He was also good friends with Rocky Marciano, and Marciano was scheduled to come to one of my armature bouts when he died on the plane crash.

For more info on Steve or Frank, search AAIB.

I won the huge Rocky Marciano trophy for winner of Best Fight of the Night. It was back in the 70s, and haircuts were infrequent. World Famous John LoBianco Sr. was the ref, and one of the judges was World Famous Tony Castellano. I did not even get to take the mouth guard out, they threw a towel over my shoulders and put me in the pic.

It hung on the wall in Steve's house till he passed, then was given to me.

After the fight, John told me I had the perfect build for a Light Heavyweight fighter and I should never quit boxing, and Tony told me I had excellent footwork, could hit well with both hands, and to let him know if I ever wanted to go pro.

Steve was heartbroken I did not go pro, but I was recently married, recently had a daughter, recently got a house, and recently got a white collar job, so I just could not do it at the time. At the time I was 6'1", 175 lbs, and dense enough to sink in water with a full breath of air.

No one thought I was going to win. The guy I fought was built like a smaller Mike Tyson, and was going to go pro as soon as he beat me. Steve did not want to take the fight, I had to threaten to quite to get him to take it (they couldn't find any other match for me). I beat him twice.

Helped my friend and neighbor round up sheep from his friend's property and transport them to his property

Learned sheep don't like to be rounded up and REALLY don't like to be loaded in a trailer

Our development is zoned agricultural and the county has decided that they are requiring anyone trying to get any kind of building permit to turn 1/2 of their land into agricultural use

He had to fence an acre and get 3 sheep, or 3 goats, or 1 cow, or 1 horse, etc

I have to do the same thing before they will give me my pool permit

The wife wants 3 pygmy goats

Hope the little bastards enjoy the pool...

I've been fighting a cold for the past week, starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel for that. But, I'm dealing with an ear infection that was a bonus with this mess. I think the ear infection is worse than the cold. :(

This seems like an exceptionally bad year for folks getting sick

Soooo many people I know have had one thing or another, lot of them it lingers, others get over one thing just to catch something else

Pretty spooky

Hope you kick it soon

Got an epidural injection in my back this morning. this is probably the 7th or 8th one I've had over the years and they don't get to be anymore fun. Of course they tell me I'm not supposed to do anything for a couple days. Do they know how hard that is for someone that is used to go go go. I was so bored 3 hours after that I was out cleaning off my work bench when my wife scolded me for being on my feet to long. Sitting on my ass just aint right.

Just saw a survey of the "worst" jobs in America - Low Pay w/ high danger.

Taxi Driver is #1

Logger is #2!!!
That’s why I choose to be a timber faller. We make the mess, loggers clean it up, lol.
No, I like loggers, but I’d rather be a timber faller. Independent, better hours and more money.
