    066 / MS660 R Magnum AV Annular Buffers

I was able to find enough numbers on the destroyed av mounts to identify which durometer they were. On this red light 066 with 3/4 wrap handle, the installed mounts were "hard". I have no way to confirm they are the originals based on the age of the saw and it having changed hands at least...

    066 / MS660 R Magnum AV Annular Buffers

Looking for some solid info on what annular buffers come on 066 / MS660 3/4 wrap handlebar Magnum saws in stock configuration? There are 3 replacement options of soft, normal and hard. I have seen some speculation that some models factory equipped with wrap handles and long bars come with...

394XP low on max rpm after port work

Intake was at 74 Degrees before the port work, it's now at 79 degrees. I didn't widen any of the ports. Exhaust is at 101, transfers at 121...20 degrees blowdown. I was all set to go epoxy the floor of the intake back in up to 74 degrees and try it until I read Mike's post, I'm still 2 new at...

394XP low on max rpm after port work

Well I finally got back to this project. I swapped the coil with a brand new oem one...no change. I then removed the new spark plug and tried the original plug...no change. I then pulled the flywheel and returned the saw to original timing...no change. So I have a good known source of fuel...

394XP low on max rpm after port work

Has spark arrestor screens, I added a a 288 style deflector and screen so muffler is now dual port, both screens new/clean. Good idea for stuff to check under normal circumstances though, thank you

394XP low on max rpm after port work

Well I tried the brand spankin new Walbro carburetor out and it runs exactly the same. Can someone tell me if it is a possibility that I gave the saw to much intake area/duration...I measured the saw stock @74* (148*duration), I lowered the jug to adjust squish and I took a little out of the...

394XP low on max rpm after port work

Yeah I double checked that the carb kit was correct, checked to make sure metering diaphragm was engaging the metering lever, and checked to make sure I had diaphragm on the correct side of the gasket. I then tried the original needle/metering lever just to rule out the new one as the problem...

394XP low on max rpm after port work

I didn't check the exact pressure, I had the mity vac at 10 psi and just bumped to metering lever to make sure it popped off and then re-sealed. What is the pop off pressure supposed to be at? Also, what is the preferred sealant for sealing welch plugs?

394XP low on max rpm after port work

I just pressure checked the carb and it passed just fine, took the high/low needles out and cleaned the orifices and examined. Can't see any debris in the holes or cracks, needles are straight and tips look nice (no gouges etc). Re-installed, re tuned, backed the high side out to make sure I...

394XP low on max rpm after port work

Here in lies the problem, my uncle bought this saw new in '99, he is a logger and uses it for falling oversize, has always been a known good running saw, I didn't run the saw or check rpm before taking it down for port work. I seem to be a full time student at the college of learning things the...
