    Mesh Winter Filters vs ?

The 550 is very good at filtering as long as you keep your chain sharp and look after the saw like everyone should, the filter will do a good job. Flock or mesh

is STIHL the only one doing 4-mix and how does that make more power than 2-stroke?

I use my km130 with a pole saw, it cuts good lots of torque. But couldnt run a chain saw with a 4mix engine, it just wouldnt sound right, feel right or cut right. Put the pole saw against a 200t with same size bar and chain and you really cant compare it.

I was told by local dealer when I asked about my 550, they said £50  so I said if I bring just the carb in and plug into computer, still £50. All I wanted was the hours run time and he said it wont tell me that:mad:. So thats another main dealer that knows sod all and is charging top...

    Cutting brush with a 500i?

Two types of people use saws, one treats it as a tool and looks after it whether its their own purchase or the companies, filters are cleaned chain kept sharp and generally good maintenance. The second type is grab the saw start and straight into wood no chance to warm up, blunt chain poor chain...

The sad decline of real Stihl dealers.

The internet and easy availability of "any" part is killing dealers. Back in the day we had no option and the dealer was the first call, most are good some took advantage and some down right crooks. Battery equipment has a place but will never replace a "real saw" when a battery tool goes wrong...

    Ms500i lean issues

time for a bit of maintenance big time, all these new saws are nothing like the old ones built like tanks to last

540xp Mark 3 ran for three minutes

Lazy dealer tech, never go there again. I hope husqvarna sorts it as clearly a warranty claim. if they plug in the carb to their CST it will show hours run and mixture number so should pick up an air leak from that setting. I wish you well, learn to do things yourself and save, a lot of dealers...

Muffler Mod Temperature and Noise test.

the 560 is auto tune, i personally wouldn't used it for milling. it was designed for felling & limbing (short fast cuts) I would stick to that with this saw.

    KM-131R idle issue

I would say def an air leak but I had similar with my km130. I set the valves spot on and it ran but started playing up again so back to the valves. They are a pain, should be very simple and easy to set but they go out so easy, when it's right it's good but can be frustrating. Why did stihl...
