Piston diameter is the one thing I notice; 5 series compared to three series pistons of the same cc output are smaller, therefor easier for the "action" of the uppers to perform.
For the current saws I'm fairly indifferent as to either the 550XP mkII or the MS 261 either on the bench or when finished.
