So what did you buy today

I avoid the turnpike completely unless I absolutely have to use it.

they were busy as hell when I got there around 2pm. I'd never been there before but they are a great place to deal with. I talked to Parker, younger guy but real down to earth & a great help. Check out their website & write down the Stock # of the trailer(s) you're interested in to help them...

So what did you buy today

Friday's purchase. I've outgrown my 7x12 landscape trailer so I bought a 7x18 7K car hauler. 2024 AMO for less than $3900 on the road from Best Choice in Carlisle. It weighs around 1600 lbs & when mother nature turns the furnace down I'll load my 955 on it & see how well it pulls.

4 years ago my (almost ) 15 year old beagle died in his sleep, few weeks after I had got home from a hunting trip in Idaho. I got him when he was a pup, now his ashes are in a box on my nightstand.

    John Deere 2010?

IIRC the engines are a sleeve & deck plate design that makes it a B to work on, hydraulic system problems & parts are/will be hard to find. you'd be better off keeping the 8N

the worst part of buying used equipment is you don't know the maintenance history, doing this type of work is peace of mind for me. but I also keep a log book of everything I do for the majority of my equipment (including my truck).

$80 and some change each, might as well say $2/lb, they're 42lbs. I found some aftermarket copies that were $65 a piece but they were a few hours away.

So what did you do today?

the mfwd final drives on the 955 have a little more play than I like & since I planned to add weights on the front for bush hogging I might as well change the bearings, seals, seal sleeves & gaskets before things get even more expensive. this was about $600 total from the JD mothership. I...

by that, you mean a 1/2" breaker bar or a section of transport chain. I like to get my point across.

So what did you do today?

so I go to the lady's property to mow yesterday morning & see this... with all the rain we've gotten here in the last week, the lady's son-in-law (36 y/o) thought it'd be a great idea to run his truck all through the field (of course in the known wet spots) & tear it up, add more ruts &...

So what did you do today?

I found a bunch of 5ft & 6ft but all were shear bolt drive, or beat to absolute hell. I specifically wanted a slipper clutch for a little more protection on the tractor driveline. thanks! people want insane $ for basically scrap equipment around here, this one has the typical pitted top plate...

So what did you do today?

well I adopted this today. everything checked out, its not beat up or rusted out anywhere. I picked it up for $600, there's no markings on it but I think it's an actual Bush Hog brand judging by the gearbox.
