Thank you! I dont have a grommet that is even close to fit, so i may have to take a trip to the local shop. I have a 24" bar, the longest i own, on my 395, so 28" on the 460 might seem a bit odd...:-) If i understand right it is possible to fit a 460 top end on a 440, but how about a 54mm 460...

Ok, thank you! I think i will try one of the FTs and see how i runs, and if the vibrations is not too bad i might replate it, or see if i can find something else.

Is the big bore kit from farmertech? I have ordered 2+2 of them, but they all lacks a good amount of plating. I might try one out anyway to see how it runs... Best regards

Hello. Realy intresting tread! Im in the middle of a (very slow) build of a 440 and a 460. I have a rather stupid question , but since i can not figure it out on my own i have to ask. Where is the cables for the kill switch supposed to go on these? There is a square hole just above the coil, but...

It was the starter cover that broke. Must have been a faulty casting. Grinded off the letters on the cylinder to clear the flywheel.

Not much done here with saws, but toilet is finished! One day after x-mas the wife was away, so i borrowed the kitchen for crank and case assembly. For some strange reason she dont like chainsaw parts there...:-) 440, 460 and the FT 361 went together. Had bought oem bearings for the Stihl 361...

I have not had any problems with idle, but good to know! Tried a oem selector shaft, and high idle worked perfect! Like ten times, then no more...

Yes, it is! Have to check my blue one, high idle works on that one. Should not be to hard to copy. So am i! I dont have any wood for another month or so, but will ask around to see if someone have, and need some "help". I aint gonna tell them they have to burn cookies all winter! :-)

Well, to be honest, it is not... I ordered a 440 kit and all parts i could find that differs between the 440 and the 460. Probably a few parts missing, but i take it as i go on with building it. I plan on keep track of all 440 parts i use and order them separately to complete the 440 also. Think...
