Amazing that the bottom end and cylinder had no real damage but that ding in the exhaust port. My fear is all that bashed up aluminum from the piston being in the bearings. I'm betting/hoping you flushed out the case at a minimum.
I agree with the posts about bad bearings or trash injection. The first top end looked like it injested something. In my eyes it would take a pretty perfect situation for pieces of bearings to get into that area to cause damage. Unless they can fight the incoming air and make it upstream.
In my minds eye I see a possibly fatter air fuel ratio going through the carb and nothing but air in the strato. I think we all understand some air has to carry the fuel into the case.
Never tried the feather lights. I've been running the platinum bars on several saws. Probably 60 pulp per 3 bars no complaints other then the clear coat. On my second and 3rd bar I used 2k clear coat before use
Those still look new with same use as the first bar but lookway used without the...
I know what you mean on prices. Found a rch twin on my Craig's list I think it was 600. To me that's a on the forum enthusiast prices. But around here if it says stihl mainly hut another name brand brings atleast 50% of new stihl stuff can be new prices or so close to new prices.
I also port things looking at flow smoothness direction and shape. I will also remove some stuff in the way below the piston. I so it sparingly tho as I've had other built 2 and 3 cylinder 2 cycle engines with way too much cround out of the cases.
The closed 55 cylinders from any aftermarket supplier for ms390s and 51 and 55s have been normal open port castings that they put a closed port divider in. So in my minds eye they will probably run worse then the normal open port.
I just looked up that kit at my dealer because I was only finding coils and dealer tells me I use my oem flywheel. The kit with the flywheel is 242 plus fees.
