I agree with mark, they seem angry for their size. I got the chance to run mark’s on one of the times I stop by his place passing through for work travels. They won’t run with something like the five cube saws but when you think about their displacement, it is quite surprising

By the way, I cut down probably 30 trees today just one cut and then dragging everything off with the grapple. I’ve got a lot of stops to dig up over the next few days!

The 54-57cc 10-series saws seem to run good down to 110 psi. The 82cc to me is at its life end around 130-140. A 130psi 10-10 will rip like crazy. While on the topic I’ll share this, my favorite 10-series saw motors are the 82 and 62cc. I wish I had never sold my PM60 and SP60’s

True, I think i pulled 203 when the starter housing ripped off. Obviously I didn’t try anymore. I don’t think there was much left anyway. I still have that saw and it hasn’t been run since that time.

Most likely that fuel leak is at the seam where the two tank haves meet together. The best way to fix that is to get some red-kote and seal it.

Here’s the only old pic I could find right now. The 8200 cylinder has less fasteners but that may be the same as the some of the other later models. I haven’t had one part in years, they just keep running!

You guys don’t forget that 404 chain moves faster compared to a 3/8 chain even with the same tooth count on the drive sprockets. I’m sure the larger diameter sprocket even with the same tooth count is what can make the 404 chain seem to cut slower unless you have the torque to pull it

I like the 404 because it seem to stay sharper longer and I have 3 82cc 10 series saws using it. But only one with the eight tooth sprocket. They pull great. I can’t tell much difference versus the three eights. I use one for milling and it has a 36 inch bar which means I get a maximum of 30...

I’m using a .404 8 tooth in a 20” bar on a SP81. It’s usually my “go to” saw. Such a pleasure to run.

Cool mark, I haven’t seen that saw in a while. That Total bar was nice.
