    Need to vent

Ugh... The firewood business. Supply, check. Demand, check. Reliability?... Since starting my little firewood venture I've killed numerous chains, three bars, and three saws. In less than a year and almost added another this week though we will see how it withstands the rigors of this week. I've...

ECHO Anybody run the 800p much?

I just kinda went by ccs. I figured it was a decent saw but I really wish I could rent one before I buy. I know stihl won’t let me down but I haven’t ran newer echo stuff

ECHO Anybody run the 800p much?

Title says it all. Anyone running the 800p? or would it be worth it to pinch the pennies for a 461?

    Framacheck Ms250 truck saw

I hope it was just a bad batch or something or maybe I didn't put enough grease in there (dab will do yah and all that) I'm thinking it may be the rod/piston bearing because there was a fair bit of play between the needles and the cage. I'm going to see if swapping a oem clutch in fixes the half...

    Framacheck Ms250 truck saw

Well been messing with this thing on and off for a few days this week first time out it ate the starter pawls so I replaced those with the old ones from the 441 seems to be doing good on that front for the most part. Took it out to cut up the elm tree I chopped down and it did not like that much...

    Framacheck Ms250 truck saw

Got it all drilled out and such this morning took it out for a spin. Seems like the clutch is getting seated pretty good but the saw seemed to run hot for the short bit I ran it was smoking pretty good too not really bad just kinda rich for the break in. After I shut it off I tried to restart it...

    Framacheck Ms250 truck saw

I was sitting there debating making bushings and drilling a hole for the adjuster. Need to see if the oil hole even lines up. I'll look into the Oregon bars though maybe tractor supply has one.

    Framacheck Ms250 truck saw

Turns out the woodland pro bars are set up for the full size stihls. Chain adjuster won't go far enough back and the bar studs are to small. Think it requires a 10 mill or something

    SHOW ME YOUR AXES

It's a husky carpenters axe Ill have to get a picture in the morning. It is one of the sharpest axes I have and it holds the edge like a champ. Took it to a job taking down a old sugar maple was cutting through branches 3" thick in one swing. Mind you it was green but scared the stuffins out of...

My soon to be ms660 build

So not really a good idea to be turning these things into widowmakers? I thought about swapping the crank but yeah at what pint do you draw the line and just buy oem. That 661 is pretty tempting though might have to pm the guy.
