Landing Saw Sharpening, Lil' Help Please!

Thin wheels like we use on the chain grinders - sometimes come out of balance or center not true ( new out of packaging) and/or not flat. they can shatter due to vibration when spinning up to speed. Thicker wheels are simple enough to balance . Runout can be a little dicy to correct. 50...

Landing Saw Sharpening, Lil' Help Please!

the non reversible deal on grinders was instituted years ago (OSHA) due the flinging of grinding dust at the operator. silicosis. Course the other difficulty is that an improperly tightened wheel running in reverse could come loose .

    Tsumara throwing chains?

used and/or new chains, might try soaking them for a bit in a heavy weight/ bar oil so that the the internals of the chain are lubricated. the new generation saws are pretty skimpy on oil even cranking wide open. If the chains get to dry they tend to bind internally could be the difficulty. I...

    Chain gauge

Some of the .050 stuff is getting particularly less robust on the complete assembly, needless to say stretching is a bad issue with that stuff. doesn't seem to be too much of and issue with full sized 3/8 but any of the half height verisons are pretty wimpy. Had a lot of problems last year-...

Seen a lot of 325 with .058- not always stilh chain . Just ran a bucket of chains for a customer, got to have a conversation with them as they are useing .325 but drive links are .050,.058,.063 all in the same drive count and all stilh- some one isn't paying attention I think.

The LT42e Chronicles: A Tale of Wires, Woe, and Mild Electrocution

Those hall effect circuits are noted for failing across everything they are put in. Kinda like when mosfets first appeared. If you looked at them cross-eyed they failed, or the cheap capacitors used by one particular computer mfg in 90's.

The LT42e Chronicles: A Tale of Wires, Woe, and Mild Electrocution

if you are just using an ohm meter to read voltage , you really need to see the current draw. You could have the voltage but lack amperage. case in point about a year ago I was having problems with a tool and cutter grinder, no grinding motor function yet all points I checked said voltage...
