    5 Series carburetor run issues

I’ve had the latter several times. Saw will idle all day long, but pull the trigger and put it into a log and it dies almost immediately. Clean the screen and back to normal operation.

    562xp Salvage

Check the stop switch and wires. Should be an open circuit between the 2 wires on the push on terminals and between one side and the chassis.

Not enough chain tension adjustment. Husq C85 chain

LOL. I know. Tough to find 18” large mount and pre-made 18” loops. Everyone wants to sell you longer. I cut ~100 cord of firewood blocks last year and not once did I wish I had a longer bar.

Not enough chain tension adjustment. Husq C85 chain

Both 18” 0.058, 3/8” Husqvarna bars. Both roller nose but the old one did not have a replaceable nose and the newer one does.. The new one came on my 2021 562xp. I have a third 18” Husq bar on my other 562. Will have to compare it too. I think they are all Oregon made bars, before Husky made...

Not enough chain tension adjustment. Husq C85 chain

Found something interesting. New bar above, old bar below. Both Husqvarna bars. Much more adjustment range with the old bar.

Not enough chain tension adjustment. Husq C85 chain

I love the new Husky C85 chain. But I’m a bit miffed. The chain on my saw now has about 5 more file strokes left per tooth before the witness lines, or another 2-3 sharpenings left on it. But I have hit the limit of the tension adjustment. Husky 562xp, Husq bar, Husq chain. The bar is at full...

    Log size to cord yield?

    10 logs, 12” Ave diameter, 16’ long is about a cord. 2-3 16’ logs 24“ diameter would be a cord too. 1 36” diameter log, 16’ long 800-900 splits in a cord.

    HELP! Home made wood splitter

For the same money, buy a used electric hydraulic splitter. It’ll split more than that would, and safer too.

    Help diagnosing log splitter problem

Seems that was the cause of your problem. The damaged oring was preventing the pressure relief from seating properly, so the relief would open at too low a pressure, Now the relief only opens on a tough one, like it should. Glad its working again. Turn it in another 1/4 turn for more power, but...

    Help diagnosing log splitter problem

Ok. i can see now from the picture how it works. That ball sits in a socket. You turn the handle clockwise and it lifts the ball off the seat. Turn it the other way and it seats again. The knurled end allows you to locate the handle on the shaft for appropriate travel. Which direction splits...

    Help diagnosing log splitter problem

Is that the control valve or the pressure relief valve? it looks like the pressure relief to me. I don’t think your pressure relief is sticking open or leaking. I’m thinking it is the advance / retract valve, which could be as simple as a standard ball valve with a cross drilled ball in a...

    Help diagnosing log splitter problem

The thing we are struggling with is this is not a normal splitter design. The manufacturer has done something funky with a spring return. Just look at how the reservoir is plumbed. And the valve is a rotating valve, not a standard spool valve. So not everything we “know” even applies in this...

    Help diagnosing log splitter problem

The pump actually is a single stage pump rated at 1.66ml/ rev which equates to 1.58 GPM at 3600 rpm normal engine operating speed. So a 1.5 gal tank is not bad And should not overheat or aerate the oil. http://www.zfhydraulic.com/e_productshow/?336-Gear-pumps-CBK1-F063-336.html So now we are...

    Help diagnosing log splitter problem

Back up and tell us more about the splitter. I'm certain it doesn't have a 208CC engine and a 16gpm single stage pump on it. A 208cc engine is probably 6HP +/- . A 6HP pump can pump max about 11GPM at low pressure, 3 GPM at high pressure. No way a 6HP engine can pump 16GPM even at low pressure...

    Help diagnosing log splitter problem

What do you mean ”it will lose splitting power” ? Does the ram stop moving? Or just move slowly? Does the engine slow down or stall when the ram contacts the block? Does the ram move forward normally until it contacts the block, and then it stops moving instead of splitting? When the ram...
