    Husky 162/272--Jonny 630/670 project thread.

That's not a 154 chassis clone, that's a 162 chassis. My guess is open port 48mm, so a 61 clone. I would be very surprised if it was a closed port 162/630 jug.

H/42 Special cylinder identification, is it a Gilardoni ?

We did identify that he does indeed have a Tecomec cylinder in PM's.

Think the saws being released now will be the last ever???

Husky still builds the 61, 272, 281, 288, 353, 365 Special and OE 372, Stihl still builds the 260, 361, 382(evolution of the 038,) 660, 780/880, the 210/230/250 are very long in tooth, and of course there is the ms070/ms720 for truly old designs. We may not get them in North America, but there...

I think you may have a Tecomec cylinder on there.

Lets talk new saws vs old iron

My old man started running saws in 1954, and finally had to retire from the bush in 99 due to injury(back was pretty much toast from having a tree fall on him in 91.) He didn't have much good to say about the reliability of what he considered to be the old saws, especially North American ones...

    Partner Chain Saw Thread

Just got my hands on this odd little creature. 1975 P50. 50cc, 42mm x 36mm. Overall a very unique design, hiding a few very modern touches. Google translate butchered the brochure a bit, but it mostly makes sense. I have had it running, currently waiting on a carb kit.

Big news, I found a thing! Ordered from here: https://chainsawpartsonline.co.uk/top-cylinder-cover-shroud-red-for-husqvarna-266-chainsaws-oem-501686006/ Made by these guys in Serbia: https://pejo.rs/ Worked out to about $36US/$49CAD shipped each. They are proper fiberglass reinforced...

Husqvarna 51 Needs New Piston/Cylinder and TLC

The commonality ends at the tank and handle. The 257/262 are 154 chassis saws, with a long connecting rod crank, so you can't even put either top end on a 154/254. All of them are 34mm stroke. The 50/51/55 share crank/flywheel/clutch, intake and piston/cylinder with the Partner 500/5000 family...

Husqvarna 51 Needs New Piston/Cylinder and TLC

Stay away from the Hyway/Meteor closed port jugs. They just closed in the open port, and they do not have proper transfer port shapes. It's a struggle to make them run as good as stock. If you want to hunt for performance, you want a Partner 5000/Jonsered 490(44mm) or Partner 5000/Jred...

Chains used on log cutting machines

Oregon recommends 8000 ft/mn on the .404, and 6000 on the 3/4. I actually have a couple harvester bars hanging on the wall, and the chain that I have is all in 93dl loops for a Weratah processor head. I believe they are for a 27" setup, which I don't think either of my bars are. Shipping would...

Chains used on log cutting machines

.404 .080 is super common on processors and the likes around here. I have a box full of it that I will probably never use. I'm not sure how much HP you are planning on running, but the .404 .080 is generally good up to 65 hp, 3/4 you will find is good to 90-100HP. While it is more complicated...
