I've gotta Kelly WAX003 which is a heavy splitting maul/sledgehammer style pol. Ive heard knowledgeable ax folks report these and other Kelly's are Aussie made. I dont believe this to be the case, I think they were ALL USA made imported axes maybe some like the WAX series or 'Dandenong patterns' were made for the Australian market I'm not 100% sure. Some confusion there for sure as Dandenong is a region here. Kelly being the size it was were ceratainly capable of tailoring their product for conditions/markets around the globe. But the Kelly's are well regarded here, i believe many were distributed here over the years, perhaps Kelly's that were sold here were N/A in the States but 'I believe' that they ALL came out of the US. I'd love someone who really new to clarify my educated presumptions who could share when and what patterns were only made for the Aus market. How old are the WAX series? I think they were fairly recent (in ax years) compared to the age of Kelly the circle logo would be a way of dating the heads as i know they changed their logo many times in their long history. I just cant find concrete facts about the patterns sold here. My speculation goes against what collectors say with more knowledge. 1578544128624-1990130752.jpg
