Done damn good Mr Randy!

That Hereford was 300 lbs underweight.....and bred. Both eyes a little damaged by pinkeye. But.....I saw a good frame on her. No horns either. I've been pouring the grain to her, and she lost the calf. Now I've got her in with my Angus bull. She's gonna make me some Baldie calves !!!!!

I agree. the more heifers, the more cows you get. I just don't like pulling calves anymore.

Since I started raising cattle, I've had to pull exactly one calf. Too many guys think they need a huge bull. I tell those guys to get good at pulling calves !!!!!

View attachment 206923 Drought funcked me. I baked some soybean chaff behind the combine again. Got 30 some bales it’s obviously not ideal feed. It’ll get me through. Im gonna bale up some wet trashy grass/weed mix to get my beef through the winter. Hate going this route but I fed hay all summer. I’ll probably crack some corn to help the Ol girls out.

If you fellas with beef cows get in a pinch soybean stubble will make hay. I’ve done it before. It’s better than corn stalk. There’s always a few beans left in the chaff. I don’t care how good you can set the combine. They’re only so efficient.

They bale like *s-word. The cows kinda hate em but they will eat them if forced. I’m pretty sure I’d rather have anything but we have nothing here. I’ll keep the girls fed one way or another. This is bottom of the barrel feed but feed no less
Sure beats a snowball. We have fed corn stalks before. Makes a good bedding.
