I got a new 545 and thinking about getting an 18" sugi or tsumura light bar for it. I have read stories about some of these bars leaking oil on saws with captive bar nuts. What do y'all recommend? Thanks.

I ran a sugi on my 545 when I had it and had zero problems like that.
Thanks. I like the look of the sugi, but the tsumura is about $25 cheaper. I'm still undecided.

They are pretty much the same. I’ve have both. I’d get the cheaper one.

I think the Sugi tips are a little better, other than that they are both very high quality.

The Oiler holes sealed it for me, I had oiling issues with sugis on my 241 and 261.

From left to right

Tsumura, sugi, Stihl, sugi.

This was after I enlarged the holes on the sugi’s.

So the sugi was ok after enlarging the oil hole or are you suggesting not to get a sugi?

Just my opinion based on those 2 bars it’s Tsumura or Cannon from now on.

They are still marginal the stock Stihl ones were fine.

Wow I wonder why they make it so much smaller. The husky mount sugi’s look nothing like that, there more open and angled like the tsumura. Looks like a little larger drill bit would take care of it.

I had to enlarge the oil hole on my sugi too.

I’m using TsuMura on 6401, 6421, 7900 and 9010. Great bar for the money.

They sure are. My 24” Tsumura was slightly lighter than my Stihl es light. That is impressive considering the price difference.

Both very decent, sometimes the Sugi has a longer stud slot which can be good if using adapters to run Stihl mount on husky/Dolmar. Price is the reason I have about 10 Tsumuras & only 3 Sugis. They were great value when sold under the Total label. But too he honest, I find made in Canada Windsor Speed tips to he the best value these days, IMO the rail hardness, sprocket quality, fit & finish are as good as the Jap bars. I can buy them NOS at half the price and they last/perform very well.

Where do you source a Tsumara bar for the 545/550 mount? I may have an interest in getting a new bar for my 550
