I am the oldest living male member of anyone in my and my wife's families. Lots of manly men have past down tools that are a total mystery to me and I have a big toolbox full of them in the garage attic.
I figure it will be fun to post pics of oddball tools I own and use as well as those that are ??????? to me.
I hope other guys will do the same.

WAT DIS TOO??
It is labeled snap on and "no guar", it looks like a cobbled together flare nut wrench but is factory made so what is it for??? (044 impulse line for scale)IMG_2294.JPG IMG_2296.JPG
2 different snap on drivers said it was a factory specialty tool but no idea what for, apparently they used to make a lot of this type thing, I have a handful of others from them.

geographically not phonetically :)

a plumber probably has one in some regions but not in others, and it isn't used to operate water control valves of any type.

I would guess the first wrench is used for the injection lines on a specific diesel engine.
The second tool socket shape is the same as is used for high voltage electrical enclosures, like pad-mount transformers and underground primary junction boxes. I believe that some fire hydrants and underground water stops may use that shape as well.

on the first one I dunno but both of those sound plausible

the second is a Ford Key, used for opening meter boxes in the ground where water meters here are set below the frost line, we use the five sided end for the bolt and then the spike fits in a notch to lift the cast iron lid off of the pit
apparently a different Ford, patented it as a security nut way back when in history and in some parts of the country it is very commonly used on utilities and in other regions they use a completely different type nut sort like vhs and beta :)

Plus if a gremlin jumps out of the meter pit you can use the Ford Key to pickaxe him in the skull and get away

I was going to say that, our meter boxes use a complete different wrench though. I figured the pick was for busting ice since you said it would be in a specific area.

I do have another wacky wrench that we had to buy to install a new gas line cap after we busted an unmarked cap while digging one time, luckily we hooked the cap with the excavator and didn't damage the drop or line :)

IMG_2328.JPG IMG_2329.JPG the next WTF tool looks like some sort of adjustable centering tool, but it wouldn't center because the more you tighten it the more off center it gets
