Different fuels require different delivery volume to reach optimum ratio with air.
Carb needs work, has to deliver much more fuel.
Welcome to the site.
We’d love to see some pics and video of your saw.
Hallo. I fix a video When its working ok. I was thinking to run 10-12 % nitro and methanol. But i dont have exsperiens and the tools to fix the carburator. The best for me is to bye a carburator that is redy made. Or that someone fix my carburator to deliver More fuel. Best Regards Bjorn

Hallo again. I found that to on eBay, but the venturi is to big for my small engine. The best is to get a carburator that fit the saw.

I don’t think it’s too big.
Big is what your after on a high performance saw.
There might be a couple tweaks to be made to dial it in but the more air you can move, the more fuel you can add. More Air and fuel equals more power.

that would be a good carburetor for a 272 but it does require modifying the mount to make it work.

Hi. What do you tink is the best, the one on ebay or carburator that is drilled. The one a have on now is to Husqvarna 288 and fits Good. But deliver to Little fuel.

The carb we sell on ebay is an alcohol carb already but the carb bolt mounting is larger such as for a 3120xp so the saw needs modifications to use it.
If you can find someone local to you who has experience modifying carburetors to run on methanol/nitro it may be easier to use the carburetor you already have.

to modify the carburetor properly, the person needs the entire chainsaw, so shipping would be a big deal for this reason, also I do not know of anyone who performs this service commercially.

Do you really want to go nitro? Methanol would be easier or just straight alky and start it on gasoline. I think DD would agree to pick your poison and stick with it. If you change fuels you change carbs. Mixing is tricky stuff and much better suited to a specific carburetor built for just that. Different fuels have different corrosive effects on different materials. Nitromethane is the worst imo. Just some food for thought.

Anyone know some good links to helps this man study up on different fuels and there effects on rubber, plastic and metals?
My jabbering would not be well understood.

I understand that nitro is aggressiv to materials. But i still is interested to use it. Because its the most powerful fuel you can use. I know that after a race you have to clean out all.

Study fuel curves and mix ratios. See if you can find a local guy like D Dave said. Theory is one thing, real world is another. I'm not very current on new methods of computer generated fuel metering programs. Always went old school, just test and tune. I have no shop to even play with the fuels at this time.

Good Luck with it.

Hey Bjorn I found a guy I trust who can build you a complete 272 carburetor for Methanol with 10% nitro for $200 including the base carburetor. He doesn't generally offer his work to the public but is willing to build one for you. Do you have a reliable source for 10% Nitro and good quality Methanol?
contact me by PM to arrange the details
