It is already official from Stihl replacing the black solenoid valve with the white one and the new pickup body. This is valid for the MS 261 C-M and MS 362 C-M.
I asked 2 Stihl dealers in East Tennessee if they had been informed by Stihl to replace the solenoid and fuel filter in the MS261 C-M. Both denied Stihl had sent any information regarding the solenoid or fuel filter. When I get a chance I'll call the USA Stihl customer service and see if anyone there has been told about changing the solenoid and filter.

My local dealers still have no idea about the 462 and 500i. Go figure. ‍♂️
I was just there today.

My local stihl dealer gave me one of those newer orange fuel filter instead of the old white ones last week when I bought one.

Does anyone know the difference in the new filters vs the old?

I think one flows more fuel, but one filters better. Finer filter material. Smaller micron rating.

I better put that old one back on to gain that tenth in the square wood ;). But seriously, it must work better for keeping sawdust out of carb screen?

LOL. Just mentioning it. Probably doesnt make much difference in the older saws, but really affects the mtronic saws.
