Biggest tree I've put down to date. It was a mostly dead maple, but surprisingly wasn't holow. @chipper1 that chain is killer. Gave it its first touch up today!

I like my firewood under 24" stuff 16" lengths. Easy to kill 10-25" standing dead oaks in a forest. No clean up. Plenty of red oak maybe forty full cords in one area this year. Drop, chop and load. Have to start grabbing this pile of two foot chunks of white oak cut last month local. No Locust, yet.

If your going back for more a want some help let me know. I'd be coming from Hanover so wouldn't take long to get there.
Definitely not today. It's on a mountain side and the angle is pretty steep so this rain wood make it too slippery. I might go back once more. I'm getting close to areas of rock/stone saturated bark and I'm not even going to mess with that.

20190612_191645.jpg I'm kinda glad it's raining today. The neighbors had this death trap poplar taken down yesterday. I got asked to cut it to firewood size cause in there words I have a big saw. 7910 blessing or curse? Guess it depends what I'm being asked to cut up. But theres a big ash there having taken down and they said I could have that.
