Hi to all
Just wondering if anyone has a parts list for the new Husqvara 545 MK2,
or more to the point, does this new saw use a Two ring piston, or did they keep
the One ring affair of the older model.

They say its an all new design, and my search so far has revealed nothing about the innards.

Thanks for looking

Just uno me fren.

Go to the Husqvarna site (search google 545xp mark 2 manual) and click manual. You can download them all as a PDF.

Here is the parts list link,

https://www.husqvarna.com/ddocdownload/HUSI/HUSI2019_AAaa/HUSI2019_AAaa_545MarkII-545GMarkII_2019-02.pdf

Also search that 550/545 mk2 thread. There’s a video from Sweden with the whole saw taken apart at a demo event and the camera guy grabs a close up of each piece. I need to bookmark that vid when I re-find it.

Found it, but it’s only the 550 not the 545 in this vid.
Skip to 5:47min for a close up of the guts though I don’t think I saw a piston shot either.

Thank you both, I just don't know why they can't see the benefit of two rings.
Look at the bigger saws, all Two ring, transferences heat from the piston quicker,
even Stihl manage it, as does Efco, and some of the Echo 's, two rings in anything that
they want to last.
We truly are in a disposable race to the bottom.

Husky likes those revs to go up up and away

Great idea all right, especially after their last fiasco with hot saws, you would think they would learn.
I am being tempted by the 545 or new 550, at least they did away with the rev boost now, and have a better
response all round.
Wonder if Stihl intends to update of bring a 50 cc saw thats not a 261 to the table, even if they would step up
and say they fixed the soft crank issues on it, unless they did not fix it.

Dont know i thought the 261 crank issues were only the very early ones but cant remember for sure. I got a 2015 model thats been great, but i like the looks of that new husqvarna mk2 also.

Is ur 261 ported? How does it do with the 22 inch bar

That’s a 20”/ 81dl .325” with an 8pin rim.

To me that’s the best combo on a 50cc saw strong enough to run it.

Totally stock in the picture & it ran the Combo very well.

It’s not stock anymore, although I haven’t got it back from the Good Doctor yet.

I thought for the longest a short 3/8” was better but in that size, the 81dl .325” is the best for me.

I looked into the 261 last year, read a lot about soft crank, with clutch bearing tearing it up,
gave it a miss and bought an Ech 501 Sx, sold it since.

I think you are saying there is a new version of the 261 , I was in the local saw shop last week
and they only had one model of the 261, so given what I read in the past I did not ask about it,
I asked about the new 550 MK2, they said it would be at least a month before they would have them, they knew nothing of the new 545, then admitted the man who deals with the saws is having his tea.

Is there now Two versions of the 261 available, I had the 362 last year too, sold it on.

There are new versions of both the 261 & 362, referenced as version 2.

This Internet thing spreads a few occurrences into full on problems when many times it’s just a couple instances.

Of course it would suck if one of those couple were mine, Mind you, but Still.

I was pleasantly surprised in the difference in the version 2 I just bought & the OE 261 I had previously.

FWIW, you can get both models with MTronic or fully adjustable carburetors.

Mine are both MTronic.

Stihl has this Game figured out.

Thanks hsell
Glad I asked about the 545, seems Stihl are not sitting still.
I looked at the Two saws in your picture, and can see quite a few differences,
have noted them for my next trip to the saw shop, the shop in question does a website,
but no mention of a version 2.

And now for a curve ball, can a manual Carburettor be put on the version 2 or its predecessor if
they came as MT to begin with, would be great if one could do this in the event of an
MT failure, then again, unless you could change the coil, that coil seems to be more than
a coil in that it is the MT unit, all but the Solenoid, so no saving at all if this had to be replaced
with another from Stihl, but an guessing the coil of the Non MT would obviously be the choice,
but if it is also matched to a different fly wheel then that throws that out the door.

I understand MTronic Stuff ,( or maybe it’s the EFI), has less to fail than a conventional carb.
