661 Stroker

Ive had this idea rackin around my noodle since the first 661 I built. Mr Cole won a prize pick from me in one of the raffles and we got to chatting about what to build.

Cole has an almost new 661 and what better time and fella to build a stroker for.

Used a new 40mm 660 crank for this build. Displacement will be 98.52cc.

My Buddy Deeter did the absolute exquisite machine work on the case. After recieving the case and parts back from Deeter I dropped all in the US tank and admired his work.

Before I sent the crank I hand filed the casting ridge on the big end. Filed perpendicular to the bearing to avoid any stress risers. Gained .02” taking off this material.

I ground a set of *s-wordty bearings so Deets didnt have to fark with fitting the crank in the case while machining.

You can make the spacer any thickness you want. Just depends on how much you want to cut the band. I think with no band cut it’s around .22 or .21

Checked clearance after flyside was installed. Have .042” on the counter weights and .016” on the big end.

Trimmed the gasket and sent the pto side home. This where I am for now.
