Just take it for face value please. This guy is a good feller. It clearly shows he knows what he is doing at felling trees.
If you are short on time, fast forward to just before the 13 minute mark. This guy and his saw are very lucky. Very scary.

Normally I’ll tie two oil cans together one will be gas second oil then a gallon of water off the center.

That was just a conventional face that I snipped the forward root swell off due to the specifics.

I like Humbolts too.

I’ve seen his videos, not particularly impressed. He gets the saw pinched a lot too.

Can't make this into a saw war. If he used a Stihl, he would have had same result.
Critique his technique, not his saw choice.

Yes but he doesn’t maintain a flat back cut & slopes it down to his shallow face cut: look how much difference there is between the vertex of his face cut & the start of his back cut. It looks like 6-8” from here.

He then left a lot of holding wood in strange places.

But what do I know.

I just find the Swedish Stump Dance or whatever they call it to be silly.

Put a grown size bar on it & get it done.

I agree Heath. I do not understand the slope on that cut ... back to the face.
But I am a simple guy. Not a feller.

I personally would have used a bigger bar on the saw to drop that tree.

Sometimes Assing around like that causes more issues than you can compensate for.

Hondaman’s Triangle Cut, or Coos Bay Cut would have helped him: Hell a bigger bar & a level back cut with 1-2” of his face vertex would of been Devine.

What we really can’t see is why he was trying to pitch it where he was, & why he did all that fugly cutting.

For all we know, The Swedish/Austrian Stump Council could have new regulations that he be trying to follow.

Found this walking a sale were going to be cutting along the property line. Not sure what the outcome was but it looks like it was dangerous. March 15 and the ticks are everywhere already.
