I have a friend who took apart my Jonsered 2077, he left it apart, the crank shaft and oiler mechanism. A local kid who does chain saw repair was unable/unwilling to do anything a couple weeks after I dropped it off. How to get this fixed?

I'm in the Norwalk area, any help would be appreciated. The friend took apart the oiling unit and the crank, external not internally. I ordered a recoil used, which does not have a pull cord/handle and an oil pump from chainsawr.

That's easy peasy. I'm sure Dan will have you fixed up in no time.

It was not oiling the chain; Sam in Old Lyme was working on his saws, which are 1970s Huskys and then took mine apart and left it like that and had no interest in putting it back together once I got the parts. Good saw, my brother had spent hundreds on a tune up some years ago.

You got the metal worm gear or the plastic winged one?

I have had a few oilers on the series give up the ghost. Oilers can be bought new still if oiler.

Thanks, it was the earlier one, pre-1992 I believe.

It was listed on Bargain News as a "Tomsered" not Jonsered and I bought it and got good use out of it.

I'll try to upload some pics when I get it back, got to pick it up from the high school kid.

I've been doing log splitting jobs, most are 2-4 cord, fortunately I haven't needed a big one though, though I looked at a job in Carmel, NY with a lot of tree length wood, probably 4 cord, ash and up to 3 feet or so. I didn't even estimate it, makes no sense without the right equipment.

If you are picking it up in Old Lyme, I’m not far from there. We can meet up and check it out.

I already picked it up there, am in the Norwalk area. I'll try to follow up with pics on Monday; I work part time at THD.

It's still in the back of my car; a member here offered to help if I drove it up to where he worked he would check it out; but that is like 1 1/2 hours away, so if I get to that part of the state it may happen. Thanks for asking.

How complicated is this to fix? Since the friend took it apart, I bought the recoil and saw pump used. What would be a step by step reassembly on this?
