Michigan law states you must have my permission to come on my property to recover game.
No I do not want any one elses game, so I have always said yes.

Then there is the guy who bow hunts a narrow strip of woods about 30 feet wide at the widest point. He used to wait till after dark every year to come knock on the door and ask. I told him one that next year if you do not come and ask for permission before the season starts and interrupt my dinner I am going to tell you to get off my porch and stay off my property. I will bury any dead critter (deer) i find on my place.

So he started comeing in Sept and asking and I have always told him to go ahead if he has the need.
then last fall he comes at the of Oct and says his son and brother in law are coming to hunt the area on the week end can they recover game on my place.

I say yes again. then the following Thursday I am in my woods and here comes this guy says he is the brother in law and had arrowed a doe just a couple hours ago and could he track it.
Again I say yes but am not happy as I do not consider Thursday the week end.

So I am doing a test on the edge of a bedding area on my property. My game cam picked this guy up at 1:51PM going thru my test area and the bedding area.

Note the pant legs

I'm not happy but I did give permission to track his deer and at this point It has traveled across a 330 foot chunk of property 600 feet of another chunk of property and about 200 feet of that same chunk. In other words it has covered a lot of ground .

Then at 4:41 PM another guy is covering nearly the same area. I am not sure but think is is the neighbour.

Note the pant legs and camo patteren.

Now why did they have to cover the same area twice?
My game cam never picked up another buck in the area since the day before.

Going to try to get the money to put uo a new fence between us and them and not give permission for 2019.

Put some feed out on the opposite side of your property from them. That's what my uncle did to his neighbor who tried to start a "deer hunting resort". Weasel as he is affectionately known didn't have any luck with the deer any more.

Either give them permission to trespass or don't. To have to continually ask permission, especially if their neighbors is ridiculous.

If you're a hunter it should work both ways and certainly you have had to go across their property at some point or will have a need in the future??

If you're a non hunter and they're hunting your property responsibly what the hell does that hurt??

Honestly I don't know what the world is coming to. As a kid I remember everyone on my hill got along and roamed each other's property freely with a few unwritten rules that were understood and respected.

As the old timers have passed on and property has been split up everyone is so worried about their little piece of property it's completely crazy. If only they knew how much better it worked before everyone boxed themselves in with posted signs and bullshít attitudes.

So, is this about dinner being interupted? Or about over-use of your generosity? You gave them permission to track game on your property and you are upset they are tracking game on your property? Not really sure what you're fishing for.

We dont worry about our neighbors doing stuff like that here. We all need something from each other at some point.

It isn't some thing that can be OK tresspassing on my place is OK. But I can't tress pass where your hunting because it doesn't belong to you. You own a ten acre field you least to the farmer along with the other neighbour.

I don't mind them going thru the area ONCE to track a wounded deer. Now if they had tracked it thru there once why did they need to return for a second time?

There is also fact that I do have a shooting range in my back yard so it is best I know they are back there.

So you said previously that you dont want to be disturbed if they have to track game on your property but now you have a shooting range and you want to be informed if they are tracking game on your property? It sounds to me like you should be talking to your hunters and asking them the questions you are asking here. We dont have the answers but im sure your hunters do. And im sure they would be more than willing to compromise and explain why the multiple trips.

Sounds like responsible hunters doing there thing, the fact the fellow has asked permission so many times show he has respect for both you & your property. I say if he's your neighbour give a little & be nice to each other. Good neighbours have each others back. But its your property & YOU decide who enters & on what terms.

Sorry you all thought I was asking a question here. I was really.
Also sorry you all got the impresstion I was talking about your woman too.

Nope I was just venting about the guys searching the same area twice for a deer.

Also the saying is GOOD FENCES MAKE GOOD NEIGHBORS.

They have nothing they can trade with me either. they do not own the little strip of woods next to mine they hunt on. it belongs to some one else.

I have 20 acres and I do not bow hunt the area because I rate the area just to small. I travel to my sisters who has 80 acres of woods where I bow hunt.

I see he said weekends but what if he took a long weekend starting on Thursday? If this is a huge problem then he can call local authorities and pin the guy for trespassing.

Mayhap they were in the area twice because they had not located a the deer and were still/continuing the search?
Dunno. I don't know them or what type of hunters they are, but if I put an arrow or bullet into an animal I do all that I can to assure recovery or that the animal will carry on.
One should not just walk to the spot where it was when the shot took place, glance at the ground, see nothing and carry on.

I am trying to figure out if the guy who surveyed it was on meth, or how one comes to have a piece of rural property only 10 yards wide, unless it's some type of easement into a larger tract.

It is a 10 acrea tract, it has a strip of woods along side of my woods.

He said week end, didn't say a word about a long week end.

I can see continueing to search. But if your on a blood trail as he (first guy) was as I saw it my self. There is no need to go back thru that area again a few hours later.

They are not much as hunters I can assure you that. I had left my deer blind and hear them shoot after legal hours several times.
We have sat in our living room many a evening after hearing the shot and wathced them tramping all over that open field with flash lites looking for the shape they shot at.

I tell my wife I wonder why he has all those lights on his truck? Could have lit the field up like a night foot ball game with the truck.

He has mentioned I have a lot of box blinds (4). I told him I rotate them so the deer don't patteren me.

Shooting in dark could lead to killing the wrong target!
