Well, my 254 got the refresh it needed today thanks to Josh. I had some "customer" work to finish up. She was sucking a little air due to a crooked crank seal. Piston was just starting to transfer, but it was caught soon enough that the cylinder only needed a few minutes worth of cleanup to being it back. Fired up and ran well.

Thanks Josh

No problem big bro, glad you were able to get caught up with all your other obligations.

I contacted the seller about this saw, He won't give me a straight answer if its a oem cylinder/piston. He won't give me any numbers from the cylinder either. He also doesn't need to take the muffler off to take a picture of the cylinder/piston since
" No I will not pull the muffler I think my brain can tell me the condition of the piston and cylinder !!" his exact words. I was gonna contact a member here to ask for some info about this year saw (Possible cylinders for this serial number)but I get a bad vibe from this seller. I've asked twice if cylinder was oem but he won't say yes or no. I figure I would be better off waiting for one to show up in classifieds or put up a WTB thread. I think I'd rather have a 246 anyway tho, I'm looking for a limber/ light little ripper.

That’s unfortunate. So he’s either hiding something or is just an arrogant AHole.

The 346 whooping already happened. Pitting 254 against 357 this time. I’ve got some ground to make up.

Guessing in the garage as opposed to the barn?? Still in shock you were up and about that hour.. lop!
Hope you two don't mind me being nosy .......Just interested if you boys are dealing with snow over there in NY ? I think you Joe end up on the plough if its bad so figure this may be partly whats keeping life busy.
