Does anyone know of a drum that is 3/8 that will fit my 420? I have a .325 clutch drum on it atm and can’t find a 3/8 drum or part number that will fit it anywhere. Btw I am in the uk.

Cheers

Want to fit this bar to the saw as I love the way a 3/8lp works on a ms241.

Convert to PS-5101 drum to utilize rim sprockets!
If memory serves You need a PS-5101 drum and a 0.2mm washer.

Andrew @ajschainsaws should be able to get You sorted.
There is still a issue with the 3/8 lp rim to fit on the sprocket drive over here Wilhelm. Stihl Pico 3/8 is the only rim (at the moment but may be changing !!) and will not fit as standard so the least line of resistance is to go with Dolmars own 3/8 lp sprocket for now or do as you suggest and upgrade to the Ps-5105 rim and sprocket drive sticking with .325.

You need the sprocket from the Ps-350 as they can be supplied in 3/8 lp . Same saw as the ps-420/421 but 35 cc top end.
@ajschainsaws ...Andrew may be able to help you.

Simon Big J had a 420 this week and I converted that one too 3/8 lo- pro
For him

I am getting a custom made small spline 3/8"LP shipped from the US.
I want to utilize PowerSharp on my PS-550.

Also, apparently small spline 3/8"LP can be had from a US web shop - I can not confirm this though.

I think converting to rim sprocket and keeping various spares at hand is the best way to go - but that is just my humble opinion.
I agree with you Wilhelm, going to rim and sprocket is a good thing. The ease of supply is just the pain for the 3/8 Lp rim making it NA until we can sort out a proper supply in the UK.
I have returned my own saw back to .325 from 3/8 lp and am using the Rim and Sprocket from the Ps-5105 . In reality I find .325 narrow kerf performs really well on the upgrade so no regrets not using 3/8 lp. Shame about Sugi Hara bar and chains being redundant ...for the time being.

Been trying the rim sprocket route but no progress , GB realise 3/8 lo pro is different from 3/8 In standard drive by making a purpose built 3/8 lo pro sprocket for bigger saws

But aren’t interested in a small drive purpose built 3/8 lo pro rim
