I think the 400 was a chevy motor used to stomp the ford 390 into the ground. I have never heard of a 500 but I think you can buy a 502 crate motor.

I wish they would bring back the 455 rocket. coolest name ever!

Both companies built 400 small blocks, a 4" bore and 4" stroke, no way I would take one from either company over a 390 big block. The 400s were Tonka toys. (High deck small blocks).

Now, as for the 455, I remember stomping one of them in a Stage 1 Buick Grand Sport with my 68 390 GT Mustang. Was my girlfriend's Brother's car. He thought I didn't have a chance. The inverse was true, it was not even close!

But, like they used to say "Drive the car that Teddy drove, a Rocket Oldsmobile"!!! Very popular if you lived in Chappaquiddick!

Back when I did bodywork-30plus years ago.
A nun down the block from da shop had a olds..64-68, I dont remember, it was a gold 2door wiff newspapers on da floorboard. It had a 455 rocket in it.
That mofer would make you scream fer Jesus when ya romped on it..

My pops(God bless his soul) had a Ford LTD wiff a 460 wedge in it..

Fir your information the 3 series is long gone!!! Dead!! Finish!!!

That means Husqvarna left with the worst production series ever in their arsenal the 5.

Is this enough or should we continue?

I WORK MORE THAN 10HOURS PER DAY AND FOR MONTHS SEVEN DAYS A WEEK

I NEED A 661 IN MY HANDS TO CATCH UP MY SCHEDULE

I would think one would choose a more reliable saw, hard to change modules in the field. My point is you can diss the 5 series but lots of guys like them, your a Stihl guy so your gonna buy Stihl, Husky guys will buy huskies cause it's what they know and like. You point out husky is redesigning the 550 for issues but Stihl has done the same thing with the 261/362, booth companies have made mistakes, hopefully they are learning from them.
