What's the story on that bar?

Huh?... I just got it, didn't like the price of Oregon, and figured I'd give Archer a shot. Brand new starting upside down since after modding this saw will go to a friend, and without a doubt the bar will end up upright at some point, and likely staying that way. Might as well get some wear on the top side while I can. Is that the answer you're looking for? 24"

I was wanting to know the length and DL count. Someone told me Archer was making a 20" D176 in 72dl instead of the funky 70.

24" "81DL" but I'd call it 80DL, and luckily 80DL chains do exist. Often times I can find 1-3 DLs more, but never even one less. I'd like a 134 for 42" bars, 113 for 36", but nope.

Yea, I got a 70DL chain I gotta get a large mount 18" for and run a 8-9t rim till it streatches to fit a 72DL 20" bar.

Well crap I was hoping you'd say that it was 84 DL lol.

Well, I just searched for a 81dl oregon part number. I guess it's possible they make a 84 176 mount, this bar does seem a bit short.

Most d176 bars are that way in the 20 and 24. I've got a few bar adapters and use the D025/stihl mount on them so I can keep with the common chain lengths.

By the time the tensioner is all the way out the chain cutters will reach 24" from the front of the saw case. New 81DL chain is reaching 23.5" right now. I'm sure they could make a more legit 24" with 84dl, but I guess most bars run a bit short.

First attempt at a video. Taken with my crappy phone camera.
028 wood boss. I did a base gasket delete, opened up the deflector in the muffler and put on a clean metal mesh air filter I had.

In the bigger log it seemed to bog down. The part I was on is full of knots which didnt help.
Is that bog in my carb adjustment?
Is it just how these are? I seldom put it to any wood over 8" anyhow.

Sounds good from here. Your tune seems spot-on. Your chain might be a little bit dull or maybe the rakers need a couple of swipes off of them, but the rest seems good to go

Thanks Kevin.
I would guess it's chain then. I think I have 3 or 4 tanks of hacking dirty, dead pine since I touched it last.

Have you run tried the chain I sent you?

Yes, it got put on the saw in the video, cut 3 cookies to clean the chit off it, then wiped off and boxed back up!
It's for the raffle, so I didn't want to run it much and booger it.
It cut really good though!

Im still getting the hang of getting round hand filed properly, I wasnt going to risk messing up that mystical square voodoo that you do.
