My ax backup arrived today.
They are no beauties, but they don't look too bad either.
Left to right: 1.2kg head, my old faithful at about 1.8kg, new 2.0kg head, new 2.5kg head
Only the small head is seated on a 32"/80cm handle, the others are sporting a 40"/100cm handle.

My old faithful still features the superior wedge design.

I am offering up my place to store all Your running chainsaws, that should make some room at Your places for some other stuff to store.

I am curious whether the axes I ordered will arrive this upcoming week.

I made a video of my dragon slayer ax and the dragon egg smasher ax (1.2kg one).
I will try and upload it this week.

Will be waiting for this one

I copied the video from my camera to my PC a moment ago, it is shot in 720p and 730MB in size.
I can not upload that amount of data and will have to compress the video before I up it to the Tube.
I think the video turned out nice, it shows how inferior the light weight head is over my old faithful.

Yeah it does look like the best splitting wedge
Gotta make a new comparison video featuring the new heavy heads, their weight and handle length should help them to perform decently. :)

I have a lot of maple and oak to split up. I will use my Fiskars X27, and both Gransfors Bruk splitting Ax and Maul. I will see if I can make another video.
I split some last week with splitting Ax and it was superb!

Any news Wilhelm
I had a video up last weekend, but took it down shortly after uploading it.
I got a copyright and monetization claim on my 8 minute video because of the music that played in the background (work music).
I will not have a greedy music studio make money trough showing advertisements on my private video clips, so I did the only thing I could and took two clips back down.

I made a new clip featuring 4 axes.
It is ready for upload to YouTube, I'll get it up today.

Thanks Wilhelm look forward to that
I haven’t used my wannabe dragon slayer yet been so wet lately
Here is my new clip portraying all four of my dragon slayers.

Video description quote:
Comparison of four axes of similar style ("Bosanska") but different weight and wedge design.
Featured are ax head weights of 1200 gram, an approximately 1800 gram ax, 2000 gram and 2500 gram.
Only the 1200 gram ax head is seated on a 80cm/32" handle, the other three sport a 100cm/40" handle.
The 1800 gram ax is my decades old faithful , the other three are new to me.
The rounds are fresh bucked turkey oak rounds, all came off the same log.
Knots within the rounds are random, no intentional previous selection in an attempt to falsely portrait a specific ax as superior has been made.

My personal opinion:
- the 1200 gram ax is too light for this specific application and firewood species, handle is too short for my liking.
- the 2000 & 2500 gram axes feature a good weight and handle length, but the blade is too long which diminishes the impact effect of the swing, also the heads wedge design is too narrow for the featured weight which causes both of them to easily get stuck in the round.
- my old faithful ~1800 gram ax is still the undisputed king, head weight is about optimal, the heads wedge design is superior over the other three - it will bounce off or go through the round, it rarely gets stuck
