Earliest 670's did not have the external impulse lines. As Willard, points out the one in the pic is pulsed through the boot.

There is a service bulletin announcing the change to the external set up that I went and dug out to see when that took place, but of course there's no date or serial number break on it. :(

Good info. Did not know that.

Does it happen to say what carburetor was used?

Ta - Jonsereds saws are not exactly common over here so I'm often left guessing about saw ID where vendors don't know anything about what they are selling.
Wish I had a better picture of it.
My final call is a Jonsereds 52 .
50 had a silver top. Starter handle is too big relative to a 70

Does this view help? [Had ruled out a 52 as the recoil housing lacked the bulbous bit at the top and the plug wire exiting from the top of the housing that I am slightly more familiar with. Aslo thought it looked a bit bulkier than a 52 but then again, Jonsereds are not common over here]

I has what looks like a "K" embossed above the fuel filler cap and for the life of me, I can no longer find the posts that referenced the letters on the cases with saw models.

Same as mine here . Mines missing the air filter cover.

Oh dear (or words to that effect). That CAD thing might be kicking in again..... I think the one I attached the picture of may have had a chain brake/have the remains of a chain brake - you can just spot a rusty bracket on the inside of the handle, just above the clutch cover.

Yes they all came with chain brakes, mine is missing too.
The 70E came out late 1970's. Early to mid 1970s Jonsereds may have them or not have them. The 621 got their first chain brake in 1973.

Important to post a "good" pic of a saw for identification.
Here's what I tried to do earlier matching my pic and your first one.
Smart phones are just way too handy to have in the workshop.

Ta Willard - had the pictures been my own, we shall just say they would have been taken from "better angles"! I was getting them E mailed through to me bit by bit today.

Are you going to buy it?

I had this 70E given to me a few years ago. I still haven't got it running yet. It has good spark just needs a good overhaul and a air filter with cover and a chain brake lever.

I have owned and run almost every Jonsereds from 1974 to 1983. I just never used a 70E yet, I heard they had good power for a 70cc saw.
