Finally got some sun today...perfect for trying out the new 562xp !
Also got the 450....and Dad's new Echo 590 Timberwolf out to play !
Doing some spacing and multi-shoot thinning in the lil Maple Grove :)

They actually weren't all that far apart !
The 562 revs higher and cuts faster....but the echo grunts it's way through pretty quickly as well . Is the 562 worth the extra $300 or so extra ? I say yes...cuz the xp just flat out rips !

What about handling? I’ve never held the 590, I’ve picked up more than 1 562

The 590 is heavier. But, its built like a tank and makes you feel reminiscent of older saws that you weren’t afraid of dropping. The 562 feels more plastic saw-ish (not a dig, just in comparison to the 590) but is much faster than the 590. The 590 is much more of the torque grunt and the 562 is more high strung. At least to me.

That pretty much sums it up ..very well put !!
I will say....that both full of fluids...20" bars...ready to work....they were really close on actual working weight.....but the 562 just seems more nimble and maneuverable overall.
Let's just say....that I'd never turn down a 590 . It's not really a downgrade in my eye .
The 562 is just...well....fun !
And when work can be fun...life is gooder ;)
Yes...that's a word lol !

I wouldn’t turn down either one, either.

I have ported a couple 590s and they REALLY take well to mods. Won’t spin as fast as the 562 unless you put the Echo 620 unlimited coil on it, but those saws make great power and are very predictable with a wide forgiving torque curve.

Never worked on a 562 but have seen a few vids of modded ones. Like I said; much more high strung. And appear to also take well to mods.

The 590 is one of the best values for the dollar for a pro saw. Way better than a farmboss or rancher that costs more $ new in the same class with plastic cases.
