Shindaiwa 345 will not stay running unless I feed it with fuel thru carb.
Clutch side crank seal is leaking, would this be the cause?
Rebuilt carb, chaged fuel lines account of bad. Pulse line is good, new plug.
Saw does have a slight pop to it when I first pull on recoil.
Compression is good, no scoring on piston

Probably not, or the piston would most likely already be scored.
Carb may just need to be cleaned better.
It's probably just a dull chain :p.

If it runs with "spray fuel" then it's something fuel related. The seal would have to have an open hole to not allow the carburetor to pull fuel. Should run with just a seal leak I believe, as the saw should still have primary compression. Look at your fuel system more for the problem, or, you're going to have to sooner or later...replace the seal and see.

I have it all apart now, be Tuesday before I'll be able to order the seal.
Could there be a slight chance it's the coil, being I'm getting the pop?.
Maybe I'll see if I can get a new carb also.

Thank you for your help

Not if it runs with mix in the carb.

Figured better get it running first
Of he only knew a guy that does that kind of stuff.
Guess he's gotta do what's easier for him first :risas3:.

Do you have an ultrasonic cleaner Anthony, if not you probably just got a little debris in the carb yet. if you don't have an ultrasonic cleaner you can disassemble the carb and boil it in lemon juice, it's pretty cheap to buy a couple bottles at Costco if your a member.
I would also look for a kink in the fuel line.
Hope you get her going soon.

That's why I suggested checking the lines for a kink. Depending on the model if you use non oe line it's not uncommon to have a kink as the line is not preformed to that specific saw, just give them a quick look to see, always start with the simple stuff, that's why I don't work on saws :risas3:.
If it runs on fuel in the carb any time you try it then it will most likely not be ignition related so the flywheel will not be a problem, as that would be ignition related.

Sorry, not unless the one off my shinny weed wacker fits it :D.
I've only changed the lines and filter on that bad boy, never even done a plug, after 15yrs she fires on the second pull still time after time :campeon:.
