I can run it about half disassembled. Currently, the crank sprocket is set about half a tooth forward, making the cam timing a bit retarded. So, if I try to set it half a tooth backwards, that will make the cam timing slightly advanced. And, as the belt stretches, it should move back to centered. That sound like a plan?
That should work. If the valves are a little out of time, it should still run, just not as good as it should. Have you turned over the engine very much? (with the starter and having the spark plugs out to reduce rotational resistance). Sometimes that can put a bit of stretch in the belt and take out all the slack so you know what it's going to be when running.

I've only turned it over a couple of times with a ratchet to make sure everything stayed lined up. Will try that!

I always bring at least 20 rifle rounds, in addition to whatever I have in my pistol. Never needed more than two, and almost always just one seals the deal. I guess it just feels right to me. We do have some coyote packs here and I would take some of them out if the opportunity presents itself.
A box of 20 shells lasts me three years or more. I typically shoot 4-6 deer per year. This is the first year in a long time I used more than one bullet on a deer. I just switched back to my .270 as it has been broken for the last 4 years or so. I had been using my .300 Weatherby Mag with a lower powered handload. The .300 is a Remington 700 Classic with a Redfield Ultimate Illuminator scope. The .270 is a Mossberg ATR bolt action with a nice Redfield scope. (paid almost as much for the scope as the rifle)

I'm an awful marksman, so I shoot a few hundred centerfire rifle rounds a year to preserve my meager abilities.

Back to the 626, got it going last night. I installed the belt so that the crank sprocket was advanced half a tooth. However, when everything was back together and the belt was tensioned, it was perfectly in time! Car is running awesome now, I'll have to remember this experience for future use.

I find that I shoot guns that have light triggers much better, especially when hunting. It is very easy to pull the shot with a tough trigger.

I try to find a rest whenever possible, and also I press the gun firmly into my shoulder, this helps to reduce the deflection from trigger pull.

A few years ago I took a doe at 100 yds offhand and put the bullet right through the heart. I was being very careful, and was very mad at myself for having previously missed the deer completely at only 30 yds! I think I just took the close shot for granted, and messed it up!

Trigger pull weight doesn't seem to affect me too much. A trigger that is consistent and reasonably creep-free is what works best. I always bring shooting sticks when hunting in a blind.

Back around 2004 I encountered a monster of a buck at like 25 yards at dusk. He was just standing broadside looking at me. I fired at him with my Winchester 94 and he took off like a rocket. Me and a buddy scoured the area well into the night and found absolutely no indication I hit him. I think I aimed too low due to the dim light. As an aside, that particular 94 was a $269.95 loose as a goose Walmart special but it sure could shoot. The trigger pull was a very clean three pounds or so.

I often hunt from a climbing tree stand, and have improved my success by adding a shooting bar for the cross bow and MZ.

I seem to shoot horribly offhand when sitting! Almost seems like I shoot better with the bow, but I stand when I shoot the bow.

The biggest problem with the bow is not spooking the deer when you draw it back, or a deer staying hidden too long after you draw. The Cross Bow and MZ are much more forgiving in that regard.

We have a really long crossbow season here, and hunters over 62 or with a medical exemption can use one during bow season. I'm planning to get one at some point, probably an Excalibur.

I took my buck with one of these last year, got it on sale for $250, real hard to beat the performance for the price.

But, it does have some trigger creep.

First time I brought it to the Fish + Game club range anther member told me someone else paid over $1000 for one that was not as fast and no more accurate.

I also replaced the scope this year with a Nikon, it is brighter.

Sadly it is not a GTG, just a simple work detail of bucking up 10 cubic meters of firewood logs.
Other than my saws there will be only a generic chinese made saw.

In Georgia, anyone can hunt with a crossbow during the bow season which opens in September. I haven't ever fired one. I have a compound bow that I have taken some deer with but haven't bow hunted for probably 10 years. As far as getting meat, the gun season is plenty long enough to accomplish that purpose. I probably have enough venison now for this season but haven't heard back from one of my sisters that I provide venison for. Spent most of the day yesterday cutting and grinding up the three deer I shot earlier this week. I found bow hunting to be more expensive than gun hunting with the cost of arrows and broadheads. Also, losing deer is a much higher likelyhood as in my experience the arrow doesn't usually knock em flat like a bullet does. It's really hard to track a deer in grass and leaves if you aren't Daniel Boone. In fact, most of the deer I've shot with a bow didn't leave a blood trail at all. ie, I found the deer by spotting the downed deer, no noticeable blood on the ground. I've had that with gunshots too but usually those are short and well marked.

I Agree.

I have had amazing results with Accubonds out of a .270.

Shot placement & quality bullets Trump the stick & string in my opinion every time.

I like waiting till after 2 good frosts to even step in the woods.

Wow, hope you got your overweight permits!
I didn't, a load of awesomeness doesn't require a permit!
Beside, my car can accommodate a couple more. ;)

My Dolmar PS-550 took all the play time, she's a beech killer for sure.
Only my Dolmar PS-7310 left the trunk to finish off the last log as my PS-550 ran out of fuel.
The other three just came along for a ride.

I made no videos, although I should have.
I have a couple pictures on my camera, I'll go through them tomorrow and post some.

It was a good day! :)

Today I spent some time in the yard cleaning up some piles of wood and brush. Sometimes when we do a tree job we pile brush in the dump trailer then throw all the wood on top of it. Come home and dump it and then have to sort it out later. A "few days later" turns into a half a year later, lol. Anyway, I was cleaning up some of that type of mess, started working on my wood wall by re-spacing some of my T-posts that I separate wood with. I'm going to go with 4' sections of double row stacks so each section will be 1/3 cord. Most people's trucks nowadays don't have room for wood as boxes have gotten so short. I also want to do more sorting of wood by species so when people want smoking wood, I can remember what I put where and how old it is. This is all a "plan" as of now and we'll see how the implementation goes.
I also hand split some wood, stacked some wood, moved some trailers, replaced a hose on the Bobcat and used that to move some rock and so forth.
