I made my own for a couple different saws out of some oiler diaphragm material me and a bunch of other guys did a group buy on for Poulan saws. Any thin rubber material would work if your in dry dusty wood a lot.

No gasket between elbow and carb. Seems like that would be a place for fines to get through as many have discussed on these things.
It's probably not a bad idea for sure.

Good idea. There is supposed to be a gasket between the filter and elbow also. The paper gasket works like crap, I made one out of a tire tube and it worked much betterer when I had the low top on mine.

I have the rubber gasket that was between filter and elbow and made a thin gasket to go between elbow and carb.
I went ahead and put it together with the original mounts and fired it up this morning woohoo!
Whenever my springs and all the other smalls come in I’ll take the tank/handle back off it.

When you checked squish did you turn the saw over atleast a few dozen times or until you could no longer feel the piston touch the soldier? Doc the RC spins them with a cordless drill ive seem my number change up to .010 just by cycling the piston a bunch instead of a couple times.

Pulled and pulled, the first squish I came up with was based on first solder squished and adding an un crushed gasket to that measurement. Without rechecking and using a gasket material I hadn’t used before to know how much it crushed down after torquing.
On another note, got it running with a modified Stihl Mount Oregon bar but will only fit 7pin rim until I spin up a longer chain.
@Frank bierce i won’t be finding any of those in the pawn shop around here that’s for sure.

I found the same when mounting a 84dl (25”) Stihl bar on mine. Had to make it 85dl.

I run 99 links on a Stihl mount 30" bar designed for 98. I only avoided going to 100 by grinding the hell out of it. If you grind the slot a bit, you can fit the 25" Stihl bars with an 84DL chain.

Well I have the typical no WOT worn throttle lever ordered a new one... guess it will get here when it gets here. Fuel hose on the roller falls off as soon as I throttle it up. Tried heating and bending but still can’t get enough out of it.
