What oil is best? and what ratio?

I really don't think you do know what's going on inside though. The stuff that I have pulled apart that was caked full of carbon was cleaned up 3000 miles later by Rotella and the inside of the motor was then spotless. That truck had 68,000 miles on it when the camshaft went out, which was normal for that series of truck. Mobile one didn't make it last longer or shorter, it was just caked up underneath the intake manifold. I doubt an oil analysis would show that it was doing that.

I have never seen Mobil One lead to deposits inside a motor.

I don't know, as my sample size was small. This was in a 1980 k-30 with a 350 in it. I bought the truck from my wife's uncle who worked for GM and claimed it had been run on mobil1 since it was new. It developed some poor running qualities and I thought it was the carburetor. I had a holley 650 already mounted to an aluminum intake. When I pulled the old intake off is when I found all the black carbon laying in the lifter valleys. An inch thick in the front left and right corners. I scraped out what I could and vacuumed it out, but there was still quite a bit left in there. After installing a different carburetor and manifold, the problem continued to get worse and worse. I later learned that the cam in those Motors only lasted about 65 to 70 K miles, which is what the truck had on it, so I picked up a cam for it. While installing the new cam I noticed that Rotella T had cleaned everything off Back Down to cast iron

The detergent in dino Rotella T 15w-40 dissolves carbon better than any oil I've ever noticed. We've had a few cars in the family that had high mileage on them and started to burn some oil. After a couple changes of Rotella T in them they actually stopped burning oil. Same thing goes for small Honda inverter generators. They end up burning oil after a while and one change of Rotella T in them and they quit

The detergent in Rotella is the same one and in similar quantities to those used in all diesel oils.

Not blow by. Its caused by soot left over from combusting diesel.

No. On the compression stroke the pressure generated pushes the rings into the cylinder walls sealing them. On the exhasut stroke there is much less pressure and soot particles that are stuck to the cylinder walls slip beneath the rings. This soot ends up in the oil, which turns the oil black almost immediately. EGR makes the problem much worse by pumping exhaust gas into the intake manifold.

I've used Rotella 15w40 in every small engine, motorcycle, and ATV for the past 30 or so years with no problems at all. It works great for motorcycles and ATVs with a wet clutches because it meets the JASO MA rating.

I have used HD 15W40 diesel oils in small engines and in two stroke motorcycle gear cases for some time. Delo, Delvac and Rotella have all worked well and are over kill for these applications.

The question is, would you run T6 in the latest, greatest I4 crotch rocket spinning at 16k?
I did once and shift quality was terrible.

I Do and have for many years. Never had a problem in 600's, 750's and 1000's. Shifted better than factory. I changed my oil a little more often than most but still. I put a lot of hard miles on my R1 with that oil. There's a lot of track guys that swear by it too. Also a bunch of people that think it's junk and you have to run Motul (good oil just saying)...who knows.

Probably not, but with that said I have never had Rotella cause poor shifting in anything I have used it in.
What I would run is Delvac 5w40.
